I placed an order online to pick up at the Natomas location. My order and total is below.
Order was to be ready at 7:15, arrived at 7:05. I patiently waited and watched the awful ways customers were treated. Instead of walking people to tables, they would point and tell them to go over there. Customers were angered and I should have cancelled our order then.
Our youngest daughter picked this place (actually begged for days) and ordered a meal with 2 pot stickers, 3 chicken strips, and the donut. (most pathetic meal in person btw)
At about 7:30, it was ready. Because our last 2 orders here were missing significant parts, we confirmed that the meals were all there and took the 15 minute drive home.
When we got there, we passed out food and were missing the donut.
I called. I was put on hold and the "manager" came on to tell me it wasn't a big deal and I don't need the donut. He went on to explain that they were busy and that's what I get for ordering on a busy night. He suggested I could come back for 2 donuts or he could refund me $5, but he didn't know how. He couldn't deal with figuring it out, I shouldn't eat there if it's busy. And I shouldn't expect to get my order right if I go in on a busy day. I didn't even get a chance to mention the missing coleslaw before being hung up on. And again when I called back.
The food was pretty mediocre. We started coming here when the location first opened and loved it. It was so clean, the staff was kind, the food was delicious and you'd crave it. We introduced so many people to bonchon. The location is obviously under poor management. It's not clean, the service is horrific, and the food doesn't taste fresh.
I plan on contesting my charges and sharing my experiences with anyone that will listen.

EDIT TO ADD -
I did reach out to the location, they told me to get over it. Also, by Saturday afternoon, everyone who had Bulgogi ended up with food poisoning. Since the location doesn't seem to care, I have notified the appropriate...
Read moreI decided to keep buying the chicken strips from the Natomas location because they still had the old recipe. We decided to order again today and I am VERY disappointed because they changed the strips here too. They are nowhere near as good as they used to be. They are hard, crunchy, and dry. They have way too much breading now and it's gross. You can barely tell there is chicken in the strips anymore each bite because it's no longer juicy. BonChon used to be unique and now they sold out to have cheap inedible chicken strips that I can just go buy at the grocery store. It's sad they changed one of the best things they had. My boyfriend and I will no longer be buying from BonChon and will try to find another Korean place that makes good strips.
Change your chicken back to the way it used to be.
May '23 Edit: I tried them again after they said they changed to the new thinner strips they show on the website. I got what is in the pic that you see with the black nails. Still over processed "chicken". Very disappointing.
Dec 2024 edit: Came back to see if they fixed the strips so they were like the Arden ones and had the light batter, but they were still the disgusting over processed ones. I thought that after a year and the announcement of the change of the strips then would have fixed them. Apparently not. I will never order from this...
Read moreMade a large mobile order and there was a discrepancy in the online price versus what I was asked to pay when I arrived. New employee had charged me for dinner item instead of the lunch item, but we caught it and fixed it. No big deal! While I was waiting for me food the manager approached to apologize. I assured him it wasn't a problem. A few minutes later he brought me a free lychee strawberry drink. This is my love language!! We loved the food, and the service was top notch. The manager cares DEEPLY about customer satisfaction- I loved that he took care of me even though I wasn't complaining or even slightly upset. (Sharp contrast from a different restaurant I went to with a large group- they forgot half the orders so our table didn't get food until the other table had finished eating-they have free meals to the party members who complained but charged me full price since I was not complaining... It felt like punishment for being nice) I'm still dreaming about my bulgogi tacos... Amazing!! Next time, I'll make time to eat there so everything is fresh, but even after a 30 minute drive home, the food...
