I decided to keep buying the chicken strips from the Natomas location because they still had the old recipe. We decided to order again today and I am VERY disappointed because they changed the strips here too. They are nowhere near as good as they used to be. They are hard, crunchy, and dry. They have way too much breading now and it's gross. You can barely tell there is chicken in the strips anymore each bite because it's no longer juicy. BonChon used to be unique and now they sold out to have cheap inedible chicken strips that I can just go buy at the grocery store. It's sad they changed one of the best things they had. My boyfriend and I will no longer be buying from BonChon and will try to find another Korean place that makes good strips. Change your chicken back to the way it used to be. May '23 Edit: I tried them again after they said they changed to the new thinner strips they show on the website. I got what is in the pic that you see with the black nails. Still over processed "chicken". Very disappointing. Dec 2024 edit: Came back to see if they fixed the strips so they were like the Arden ones and had the light batter, but they were still the disgusting over processed ones. I thought that after a year and the announcement of the change of the strips then would have fixed them. Apparently not. I will never order from this location again.

BEWARE! If you go for the strips, their recipe changed! We went to bonchon twice this week because I thought that I was the one at fault for possibly ordering boneless wings rather than the strips but no. They’re no longer the nice thinly-breaded crispy & soaked in sauce chicken breasts that we regularly go for - now they’re overly-breaded chicken tenders that you could get at any fast food restaurant for way cheaper. To top it off, while their sauce is still good, they drizzle it atop the “strips” & do not fully coat it like they should which could probably help their case if they did. You could see the dry spots with no sauce effortlessly in the picture I included. And yes this was the case for both visits. Ironically enough, they give you the option of boneless wings vs strips but there’s not a single difference between the two. I was willing to pay $40 for 30 pieces of strips before but not anymore, they’re definitely overpriced for being the cheap quality that they are now. So sad because I used to love going here. Also wish they gave a disclaimer at the least.

My family have always loved Bonchon... today was the first time we dined in again after the lockdown was lifted. We ordered take out a lot of times and they never got our orders wrong, unlike some of the other places... and most of the time the food was really good... we've tried almost everything on the menu. Staff was always polite and friendly from answering the phone thru picking up our food. So today, I took my Mom out to lunch and were greeted and shown to a table right away... masks and social distancing were pretty much implemented. We ordered tofu soup, ginger salad with tofu and japchae which were all generously portioned. Our server was attentive and on-point the whole time. We also ordered the Salmon Ball and the Family Meal to take home. All in all it was a good lunch not just because the food was good but mainly because of the staff working that day. They gave the place a light and cheerful atmosphere. And I thank Bonchon for that.

I placed an order online to pick up at the Natomas location. My order and total is below.

Order was to be ready at 7:15, arrived at 7:05. I patiently waited and watched the awful ways customers were treated. Instead of walking people to tables, they would point and tell them to go over there. Customers were angered and I should have cancelled our order then.

Our youngest daughter picked this place (actually begged for days) and ordered a meal with 2 pot stickers, 3 chicken strips, and the donut. (most pathetic meal in person btw)

At about 7:30, it was ready. Because our last 2 orders here were missing significant parts, we confirmed that the meals were all there and took the 15 minute drive home.

When we got there, we passed out food and were missing the donut.

I called. I was put on hold and the "manager" came on to tell me it wasn't a big deal and I don't need the donut. He went on to explain that they were busy and that's what I get for ordering on a busy night. He suggested I could come back for 2 donuts or he could refund me $5, but he didn't know how. He couldn't deal with figuring it out, I shouldn't eat there if it's busy. And I shouldn't expect to get my order right if I go in on a busy day. I didn't even get a chance to mention the missing coleslaw before being hung up on. And again when I called back.

The food was pretty mediocre. We started coming here when the location first opened and loved it. It was so clean, the staff was kind, the food was delicious and you'd crave it. We introduced so many people to bonchon. The location is obviously under poor management. It's not clean, the service is horrific, and the food doesn't taste fresh.

I plan on contesting my charges and sharing my experiences with anyone that will listen.

I ordered the following: 1 x MoPo Corndog (1 x $4.99) = $4.99 1 x Brush with Soy Garlic Sauce 1 x Bibimbap Sauce 1 x Chicken Strip Stash (1 x $13.99) = $13.99 1 x Soy Garlic 1 x Pork Potstickers 1 x Donut & Sauce 1 x Wings 1 x 10 PC Wings (1 x $16.95) = $16.95 1 x Soy Garlic 1 x Coleslaw 1 x Seasoned French Fries (1 x $6.95) = $6.95 2 x Bulgogi Fries (2 x $13.65) = $27.30 1 x Fried Rice 1 x Kimchi Pork Belly (1 x $15.95) = $15.95 1 x Bibimbap 1 x Bulgogi (1 x $15.95) = $15.95 SUBTOTAL $102.08 CONVENIENCE FEE $0.99 TAX $8.93 TIP $5.00

TOTAL $117.00

EDIT TO ADD -

I did reach out to the location, they told me to get over it. Also, by Saturday afternoon, everyone who had Bulgogi ended up with food poisoning. Since the location doesn't seem to care, I have notified the appropriate...

Made a large mobile order and there was a discrepancy in the online price versus what I was asked to pay when I arrived. New employee had charged me for dinner item instead of the lunch item, but we caught it and fixed it. No big deal! While I was waiting for me food the manager approached to apologize. I assured him it wasn't a problem. A few minutes later he brought me a free lychee strawberry drink. This is my love language!! We loved the food, and the service was top notch. The manager cares DEEPLY about customer satisfaction- I loved that he took care of me even though I wasn't complaining or even slightly upset. (Sharp contrast from a different restaurant I went to with a large group- they forgot half the orders so our table didn't get food until the other table had finished eating-they have free meals to the party members who complained but charged me full price since I was not complaining... It felt like punishment for being nice) I'm still dreaming about my bulgogi tacos... Amazing!! Next time, I'll make time to eat there so everything is fresh, but even after a 30 minute drive home, the food...
