Shift Coffee House — Restaurant in Sacramento

Today I enjoyed my first visit to Shift. WOW! Crunchy. Cheesy. Ooey. Gooey. Greasy. Buttery. Decadent Perfection! In. Every. Bite! This is easily my new favorite spot! I ate the Da Philly and to splurge also got the Sweet Cheesus (😄 love the name!) and they were worth every penny! I'm going to have to try the whole menu! 😄

I make fancy grilled cheese at home all the time but OMG they take it to another level! The brisket was soft, tender, smokey combined with the veggies and cheese that enfolded everything in its loving embrace between two perfectly buttery golden brown pieces of sourdough such gloriously decadent heaven! And I haven't even gotten to dessert! The Sweet Cheesus is everything above with sweet added in and even more decadent! What a glorious food experience! They are grilled cheese masters, magicians and artisans worthy of their reputation!

If you're in a rush and need your food to be ready in under 5 minutes go somewhere else. This is slow food, a place where everything is carefully handcrafted with care and Love and such Perfection cannot be rushed! I am looking forward to being able to enjoy dining in again and enjoy the lovely ambiance, a place to luxuriate on a lazy Sunday with nothing to do and nowhere to go...a place to savor and mindfully enjoy every magnificent...

My partner and I are regulars here ever since we moved to the area- I truly think this is Sacramento’s best kept secret and it’s mindblowing to me that there aren’t lines out the door constantly! The grilled cheese is delicious every single time, and we love trying new coffees. We tend to order the breakfast grilled cheeses, and they’re all equally delicious! The staff here make everything they serve with care. Even when they’re busy, I know I will get the same quality every time. I can’t commend them enough for that because that’s not an easy thing to achieve.

I’m loyal to an iced cuban, but their new tiramisu latte is a great treat. We typically order ahead online, and my partner loves to order the barista special. He loves their coffee so much that he lets them craft their own for him with no restrictions. He is always pleasantly surprised by their creativity and has yet to be disappointed! I wish I could remember all of the employees by name, but regardless, everyone is so kind and welcoming. It’s such a great environment in there, and we love everything shift has to offer whether we’re dining in or ordering to go. I hope that these employees are taken care of well and that this treasure of a coffee house gets all of the recognition...

Really neat place! Tables are premium wood with metal! The breakfast sandwiches & coffee here are unmatched to all of the other places I’ve been to! I had the O.D.Bee & the Firehouse 20 sandwich. The coffee, which came with honey and Lavender was some of the smoothest, unique, and great tasting coffee I’ve ever tried, and he uses butter milk in the coffee, just perfection!👌🏻😍 The Firehouse sandwich, when he started grilling, the great smell of butter filled the restaurant and I instantly became extremely hungry. I’m just glad that I was ordering the sandwich , otherwise I wouldn’t have made it by lunch.🤪 The sandwich was also bomb, I would definitely recommend everyone check this place out!👌🏻☺️ The historic display of car stuff alone is worth coming here and meet the owner, Mike. This place he opened back in 2018 and I’m glad that he’s still running it and that I could have experienced great customer service with some great food, and a smooth coffee.
