Located in a large shopping strip near Fruitridge Manor in the South Sacramento area, this hidden gem offers delicious Vietnamese rice plates and noodle dishes, including pho. This restaurant was recommended to me by my Dentist who is Vietnamese. So, naturally, it peaked my interest along with my love for Asian food.
I ordered the Beef Short Ribs plate & it did not disappoint. The portion size easily feeds two hungry people. It included short ribs, fried shrimp cake, pork meatloaf, shredded pork, grilled shrimp & a side of broth. Everything was well seasoned and tasted fresh. I enjoyed all the garnishes & even asked for extra to pack up with my leftovers.
My friend ordered beef pho (noodle soup) and said the broth was tasty. I overheard a guy at another table compliment the pho broth as well.
Service was great. Most ppl don't realize that in Asian culture, it's typically not about service. The focus is on the food & people you're dining with, so wait staff tend to not bother the table until you ask for something. Culturally, I'm used to this & understand what I'm walking into. But here, there's actually great service. The father daughter duo were attentive and so kind to us. It reminds me of why I choose to support and eat local, in order to help them thrive.
I'll definitely be stopping by more often.
Parking: Plenty of it since it's a large...
Read moreOdd, I know!I chose Com Tam Dat Thanh restaurant, because I have not had Com Tam (Broken Rice) in forever.I got the # 3: Com Tam, Bi Cha, Suon Nuong, Tom Nuong, Tau Hu Ky, which is "Broken Rice with Shredded Pork Skin, Egg Cake, BARBEQUE Porkchop, BBQ Shrimp as well as Fried Shrimp Cake". I think all rice plates come with veggies and a side of hot soup broth, which totally hit the area, by the means, given that it was so chilly outside.I additionally bought a couple more dishes to try, which is a standard because I like taking the remainder house for supper: #C: Nem Nuong Cuon and also # 40: Banh Hoi, Thit Nuong, Tau Hu Ky with a side of Banh Trang (Rice Paper). Simply make sure they have toilet paper prior to you drop them pants, cuz bathrooms I've been in, are sometimes vacant with no commode paper, paper towels, bathroom seat cover, and so on and also it's awkward not being able to clean your backside before heading back to your seat! They additionally supply local Vietnamese magazines, Bao Mo and Lang, a struck with the regional elderly Vietnamese.I certainly will be coming back below to consume once more and will certainly get takeout if I'm as well hungover or not in the mood to be...
Read moreThis is the third namesake restaurant I've been to. Not sure if the other two are related (Newark and SJ). Got the grilled pork with egg roll vermicelli salad bowl. Asked for extra veggies. My to go container had considerable weight to it. A big plus are the authentic rice paper egg rolls (cha gio). It's very hard to find nowadays. Most use chinese style flour wrappers (texture and flavor is not the same). I think next time I'd like to get their cha gio appetizer served with vermicelli and veggies as an entree. They also have a fried shrimp cake version or a...
