I order from the menu online. A fish and shrimp combo that was $16.86 and a fish and fish which was $13.80, and when I got there they tried to charge me $21.85 for the combo, and $19.80 for the fish and fish. When I told the lady what the prices were online she responded "I'll leave a message for the owner" and that my total was 37.65 for the dinners. I then walked away. After she followed me outside and told me that she would just charge me $10 for both meals so $20 total. Once we received the meals the fish was disgusting, it tasted like it had been fried in oyster Greece and the shrimp had a bitter taste. The Greece it was fried in was old, because it was a brownish grey color. I had to take benadryl because my tongue got swollen because shrimp tasted so old. I've never had flowers to taste sp bad. Fish was good, wish the order was correct. I ordered a Catfish nugget plate with fries and spent $25 incl tax. When I got ready to eat, I realized they gave me potato salad on the plate instead of fries. I called the restaurant to let them know about the issue, but the guy who answered the phone got defensive and said "if you bring the potato salad back you can get some fries". I let him know i live about 15-20 mins away, and wouldnt be coming to bring it back, and that I was just calling to let him know it was an error. I intentionally passed up 3 other fish restaurants on the way from elk grove to support this black owned business I have been patronizing for years. Pleasant service. Quick. Fresh. Nice portion. I forgot to ask if the greens are cooked with turkey or pork, though. The menu doesn't specify this information. I ordered softly cooked catfish, but the plates weren't marked. Since we both ordered the same, I ended up having medium cooked fish that evening. It was good, just not what I ordered for my meal. I'm told my order was delicious, hence, the five stars. The fried okra was good. The pie treat was nice. There are notices to check your food order before you leave, but it's packed and handed to you out the door. I'm not sure how they expect customers to check it prior to exiting... Perhaps I'll try the buffallo and something else...
