As I am a big comfort food fan, I've always found "Jack Urban Eats" to be fairly consistent. Whether you're trying their sandwiches, salads, steak, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, this place has something for everyone. They have been a Sacramento staple over the years with 9 locations in the greater Sacramento area. The location I am focusing on is the one in North Natomas (off of Natomas Blvd & Del Paso Rd) in the Park Place Shopping Center. Since I have not yet eaten at this particular location, I was excited to try out their food as well as get an idea of their restaurant. It is quite sizable with ample seating throughout. There is also a fairly decent outdoor patio on the more comfortable Sacramento days. I decided to dine in during the afternoon of Saturday 2/19/2022 at around 1:35pm. Since I was starving, I ended up going with their "Classic Tri-Tip Sandwich" and a serving of their "Santa Fe Chicken Salad". To drink, I went with a Mr. Pibb. One thing that makes the ordering process (at all Jack's Urban Eats) is the line. Many people get confused whether to order at the register or the line where the food is located. I've noticed this at many of their locations but not a big deal once you know how the process is. Basically after you pay, you get a number (if you're dining in) and sit anywhere to your liking. As far as my tri-tip sandwich, it was just average at best as there wasn't a whole lot of flavor in the meat itself. Furthermore (as shown from the pic), this was cooked medium rare with lots of noticeable pink. Fortunately, the bread and seasonings made up for it. Keep in mind, I've eaten their tri-tip sandwiches at other locations but this was just a 3 out of 5 stars. However, the Santa Fe Chicken Salad was delicious with a ton of juicy seasoned chicken pieces and the right amount of dressing. Overall, "Jack's Urban Eats" can be a hit or miss as I am giving this experience a very generous 4 out of 5 stars. The service was excellent even though they were swamped with customers while the ambiance was top notch. And with their extensive menu, everyone should find something to their liking.

So I was pulling into the parking lot and two employees come really fast around the corner while I am backing into my spot almost hitting me and then not allowing me to finish backing into the spot. When approached by a friend of mine and then again by myself they laughed about it. While they are wearing the company uniform and representing the company. The guy in the hat is a manager and just continued to laugh about the situation. Another manager on duty wouldn’t give any information out and then proceed to go I. Back and call the general manager. I could see if I was in the wrong or something but I wasn’t. And what they don’t get is they could have hurt someone by the way they were driving and then coming into the place they work like that and laughing about the situation. It is not okay at all! This is not who I would want to represent a business I owned at all!

Jack's is just as amazing now as it was 10 years ago when I had my first Steak Salad. Fresh ingredients, hand cut meats, and craft (bottled) beers. My grandma got the build your own salad. She said it was just as delicious as one previously crafted on the menu. Great portion size considering the average size of most restaurant salads. But I have to say the best item on the menu is the Urban Fries. Yes, they're a little messy but well worth the grease stained napkins.

Truly disappointed with this location on every aspect, and would not recommend going here at all cost. Poor customer service, quality of food, and zero attention to detail.

Ordered a custom salad and requested rare steak, but the steak received was overcooked, chewy, ice cold, and half the size I have received many times at other locations. Although they say the meat portions are weighed, the amount given was clearly under the 3oz - of which I paid $3.75 to add in to my salad - what a waste. Had to go up to the counter and request a replacement with fresh steak that is rare as requested, with clear attitude from the employees who laughed as they remade my salad - very unprofessional.

The steak sandwich, with expected 4oz of steak, was certainly nowhere close to 4oz and chewy as well. The cashier suggested the veggies on the side as my boyfriend did not like mushrooms, and of course the sandwich was made with the veggies on it - clearly evident these employees put no effort put into reading the order tickets. Once again, we had to go back to the counter to have the sandwich remade. It was obvious that they used the same small portion of chewy, overcooked pieces of meat from the first mistaken order that were - you guessed it - cold once returned with veggies on the side.

Don't even get me started on the mac n cheese. We came planning to order a side, and unfortunately saw just a bowl that looked like dry curly pasta. So glad we didn't waste our time giving that a try.

Really too bad to have had such an awful experience since my opinion of Jack's from the Folsom location was one of such high standards. With so many other local options that have such a desire to give amazing experiences and drive repeat business during these difficult times, I'm sorry to say I don't think I could ever eat at this location again - and I honestly recommend that you don't waste your time and money...

I got a salad and it was really good. They were a bit stingy with the meat and double steak made our salad cost 17 dollars. It was ALMOST worth it, but I could just be a cheapskate.

They did give us a lot. I had to share mine with my sister. I do wish they had other cheese options other than feta and parmesan.

I will say, the staff was kind of rude. Well, not the staff, but this snotty young blonde girl. She wasn't rude outright but she had this attitude about the way my group were confused about what to do and how to order.

The menu was confusing to read. I mean, it looked pretty, but we couldn't figure it out. That's why my sister and I just chose a build your own. The others in our group just grabbed a paper menu and ordered from there.

Other than that, it was alright. I'd go again, and would recommend it to others. Hopefully that blonde brat doesn't work there long, though. Or at least gets rid of the...
