You know, the food was tasty... Although they drowned the bento box side salad in a ridiculous amount of what they called dressing and left all dressing off of my friends side salad, but the tempura was pretty good and the teriyaki chicken was tender... But I was really put off by how dirty everything was... The table where they seated us had white sprinkled powder on it and when I pointed it out to the hostess who was also our server, she immediately made an excuse by saying that it was common and there's nothing she can do about it, and then she stuck her finger in it and said oh I didn't know .. would you like to move? Her initial response giving an excuse even before she's checked it out really irritated me... The booth across the way where she moved us then had glue drips coming down the wall and had what looked like red smeared dirt on it and little gnats were crawling on it... I had brought some hand sanitizing wipes and had to used it to clean the table... Level of service was worse... They definitely don't want you to linger and there was no checking on us to see if we needed anything after they delivered the food... Definitely not asked about dessert or if we needed anything else... Our server was chatting with a couple of people behind the counter and too busy to do anything. They're just so into themselves but they didn't have time to do anything else and they didn't check on any of the other people in the restaurant either so I know it just wasn't us... I think I will look for another place because even pretty okay bento box can't make up for uncleanliness, bugs, and self-important servers. Geez, I really wish I didn't have this type of experience there was my first time going there. My friend who is leaving town forever took me there as a going-away lunch and she was thoroughly...
Read moreThe food is okay. But the service is some of the worst I have ever seen. And it is consistently bad. When I went with my girlfriend it was always just us in there or one other group. So basically only two tables in the whole restaurant. And it would still take them 40+ minutes to get us a few rolls. One time we ordered a lion king (along with our other rolls) and it never showed up. So I asked our waiter and she went to tell the chef. He dimly looked around, opened up the toaster oven and grabbed our roll and sent it out. When it got to our table I noticed that it was black on top. So I poked it with my chopstick and it crumbled. The chef had left it in so long that it had turned into charcoal. And then he tried to serve it to us. I let our waiter know that I thought the roll had been burnt, and she took it back. As soon as she told him that I said it was burnt, he gave me this nasty glare. He made us another roll but I honestly didn't feel comfortable eating it. Based on the looks he kept giving me I was pretty sure that he had done something funky to the new roll he made us.
If you don't care about being treated like you don't exist, getting the worst service imaginable (despite being friendly and polite to the staff), and waiting for over an hour just to get a meal, then go here.
Oh and one last thing, it was kind of amusing being there because the music they play comes from whatever computer system they have hooked up in the back. I know this because every time I went, you could also hear the sound effects from the game candy crush coming through the speakers. This was EVERY TIME I went there. Obviously no one at this restaurant cares about doing their job very well. From the top to the bottom, this...
Read moreThe food is amazing in my opinion. The service? So hit or miss. My first two experiences were great but the third time I decided never to come back.
First, the restaurant never has enough staff. Usually there is only one server and it’s slow. The third visit I arrived and noticed the single server playing with a baby belonging to a couple in a corner booth. She was so busy with the baby that she didn’t even notice people were there for several minutes, and we definitely weren’t seated before the ten minute mark. Anyone arriving after us was even less fortunate.
After we were seated, several other customers arrived, causing the single server to become very frustrated. She hurriedly took our orders in a curt tone and barely looked at us. Again, we were the lucky ones. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time and we enjoyed it. And that’s it. That was the end of our service. No one came to fill drinks, no one asked if our food was ok. Our server basically took off her apron, sat down with her own family (who were seated immediately of course), and considered herself done for the day.
Customers gathered in the entry, looking annoyed and waiting to be seated. Then the staff sat a group of 12-15 and focused on them while the rest of the restaurant went up in flames. The couple in the booth next to us had one person served first while the other sat there uncomfortably for 15-20 minutes, waiting for her food. The tension was terrible.
I finally got tired of being ignored and went to the entry to ask for the check. I easily could have walked out without paying because no one realized we were still there. I don’t think I’m willing to take a chance with such terrible...
