I went in to dine on 3/5/2023 with my teenage daughter and 2 younger children. The place was packed, we weren’t greeted when we entered, I had to flag the busser down to locate the host. The host walked around the crowded restaurant and said it will be about 10 minutes. We agreed to wait, I stood inside holding my 2 year. I sat my 2 year old at the sushi bar to adjust his clothes. And the busser came promptly to me stating that she has not clean that particular area, almost implying that I couldn’t sit there. It told her it was fine as I was just adjusting my sons clothes. She said oh ok and walked away. I continued to wait and another family of 4 walked in (white family, teenage kids), they politely asked me if I had been seen I let them know I was waiting to be seated. They had to wait to be approached or greeted as well since no one was at the door. however the same busser Hazel came out brushed past me and said “for 4” to the family and promptly seated them. At the same time this was happening the host came back to seat us and as she walked us to the opposite side she proceeded to state our table wasn’t ready and we could not be seat bc the server had a larger order to take. I brought up the fact that the other party of 4 came in and was seated promptly. To which she said they must have had reservations yet they did not give there name or any other information when they walked in. At this point I’m instantly upset, and decided that I don’t want to be served at an establishment in which the staff does not want to serve me. I bring my kids to the car and go back in to collect their names, and which point the host attempts to say they table is ready and that there was just and misunderstanding. I don’t like to scream racism but the fact that im black, hazel is a young white girl, and the family that came after us was white...
Read moreTried this establishment for first time today for take-out. I was impressed with the food, both quality and portion value. I ordered teriyaki chicken which was sliced and grilled chicken breast and came with white rice and cucumber sunomono. I also got sesame chicken, breaded, deep fried and sliced breast meat which also came with white rice and sautéed broccoli. Additionally I got their house fried rice and shrimp yakisoba (stir fry noodles with your choice of chicken, shrimp or veggie).
Everything was perfectly cooked and really good. In addition the server was exceptionally friendly and efficient. She took the time to explain the menu and answer any questions I had.
About the only minor thing is a lack of an online ordering system, so you either place the order at the counter and wait or phone order. Miyagi is located next to Grebitus Jewelers and beneath Lyon Realty at Lyon Village Center.
I highly recommend Miyagi and plan to become a...
Read moreWas visiting for the evening from out of town and so we decided to go to dinner. I only used my credit card for dinner at Miyagi''s and then left town. The very next day I was notified by my credit card company that my card was compromised and someone tried to use it for $550 at the Carmichael, Ca. Home Depot. This has never happened to be so I thought I'd reach out to the owner at Miyagi''s to let him know he might have an internal employee theft problem so I left my # on Friday evening with a woman who took my # and it's now Mon. And still have not heard from anyone. So for the review, I'd say the service was slow and inconsistent, the Rainbow Roll was mediocre and the sushi bar was more of a college bar then a restaurant. Wouldn't be surprised if the place gets...
