I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gyro Genie in Sacramento, CA, located in the vibrant Florin neighborhood. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed with the convenient location in an amazing shopping center, complete with ample parking. As I stepped inside, I was greeted by a clean and inviting atmosphere that immediately set the stage for a delightful dining experience.

One of the highlights of my visit was the exceptional service provided by Aftab, the manager at Gyro Genie. He ensured that every aspect of my dining experience was top-notch, from the moment I walked in until the moment I left. His warm and friendly demeanor truly made me feel welcome, and it was evident that he takes great pride in his role as a manager.

What an amazing authentic restaurant opened in Sacramento, and I will suggest you try this yummy family-operated restaurant in Sacramento, CA. Also, if you are from India or Pakistan, you must know how seriously we take our weekend breakfast (brunch) seriously. I mean, I don't mind driving for two hours if I can enjoy homemade " Halwa Puri" in the restaurant. This special signature breakfast plate is only available on the weekends from 11 AM to 2 PM. Also, there is Mediterranean food like Shawarma or kabobs available on the daily menu. Since we went there on Sunday, we ordered "Halwa puri," which is very hard to find in the Bay area, I mean an authentic one. Our server and everyone who worked behind the counter were very friendly and welcoming. Food came right away, and as soon I saw the texture of chanay (garbanzo ) on the plate, without taking a bite, I said to myself, "This is it." if you are a foodie and food critic so, you know what I mean This is it means. Now, another thing: this place serves 3 puris (usually two either too soggy or crunchy) with Plenty of garbanzo curry, potato curry, and halfway (sweet). Now, that was a lot of food. Luckily, I hadn't breakfast or late dinner last night, so I was ready to finish my food. But that one meal was good for 24 hours, and I promise you that. Halwa was not sweet; and it was balanced sweetness. I did ask for a pickle and some green chilies on the side. Usually, we have tea (chai), but Mr. Chef asked if we would like to have Lassie made in the clay pot (matka lassi). Now, how can you say no to matka lassi, at least not me? Every bite reminds you of back home and their service, just like we are the guests at their home. I noticed that the owner and his team were going to each table and asking if we were ok or needed anything. Omg you must go and try either weekend breakfast (Halwa Puri) or other Mediterranean dishes from the menu. Suppose you are driving to Reno or Lake Tahoe to go and enjoy your trip. I don't mind going back, and if you are there, go to the old Sacramento waterfront area, walk, shop, or enjoy the live music and capture happy memories. Thank you for the excellent food...

I was in the area and was soooo hungry, I went next door and was not really ready to order there. Walked out and was likenhep falafel it is. When I say I was so happy I did, customer service and recommendation from the cashier....10 outta 10 highly recommended. I gotbthe falafel cheesesteaknwith extra white sauce. Trust me I have eaten falafel that taste like sandpaper, dry and no flavor. They spin they put on it with making it into a cheesesteak after one bite had my tatsbudz screaming for more. With each bite and the farter I drove away, I wished I had gotten two. I also got the seasoned fries and jalapeño poppers, fries ok just seasoned fries..poppers, not my fav. Hands down theee best I have ever had ( besides my own lol ) Ot was clean, bright and the Indian music video channel playing hip hop but in their culture took me back..but when the artist threw up the Westcoast W...it took me out lol. They have your fans if you are not vegeterian, but if you are, the flavor don't miss. You can enjoy the same dishes but they have converted it to taste the same while offering the same quality without missing the mark. I literally wanted to go back the next day but forgot. The only way I found it again was bu getting the address off the menu from the business next door. I will try them to but again I was confused upon arrival, I will save that review from when I go but for now let me shine the light and give flowers to these guys. WOW...mybtastebudz thank you and I will for sure be back..big back and all lol. I will start taking photos of the dish/s I got/get, menus and atmosphere. So if/when I do the review it helps, because I am a visual girlie and I love a good pic. So run don't walk, trust me they will be your new addiction uhm wellness maybe that's to deep but you will thank me for this nugget of yummy news. OK...
