Awful experience. I’ve been going here for over 10-15 years. My gf and I wanted to learn line dancing. Neither of us drank anything but water when we went. I was there when the current owner opened and my gf and I had BIP tickets, given to us by the owner, which slowed us free entry, I think. It’s very cliquish. If the owner doesn’t have you swarming ask over him, you’re booted..
Last time I went I ordered dinner and ONE drink. I went out to the patio where smokers go and people talk and I stumbled a little, recovered immediately (I’ve had bad knees got years) because I’ve a bad knee (2 knee reconstructions, 2 total knee replacements, multiple atrocious).
When I went back inside to my seat at the bar a gentleman next to me offered to buy me a drink and I accepted. The bartender said I was cut off. What? WHAT!!?? When I asked why he wouldn’t give me a reason except to say, after I kept asking, “the owner said you were stumbling around and drunk on the patio”.
Because I insisted I was told why, the gentleman said he didn’t want drama and walked away. SO HUMILIATING. DO VERY VERY HUMILIATING! Especially because I pride myself on only 1-2 drinks (1 per hour) and I usually drink only water.
I sat at the bar drinking water. The bartender said personably he thought I was fine and didn’t think I was over, or intoxicated, but he had to do what the owner told him to do “,
I’m an older female. I drink responsibly when I do imbibe. I just never drooled or paid attention to the owner, not did I ever swoon over his dance skills.
This happened 2-3 years ago and I’ve NEVER Z RETURNED. Oh, and by the time my “cut off” was lifted (an hour), I could be served an adult beverage. Instead, I told the bartender how humiliated the experience was and said I’m never going to return.
I did try the dinner, I believe prepared by the owner and was sadly disappointed of the quality and cooking of the prime rib. But, if you do say anything negative, you’re marked from going there again.
This owner has let the success of the establishment go to his already inflated ego. What he first realized, it’s customers like me who bring in more money and friends who bring in more money to help the business thrive. Once it has., and you didn’t say hello, or offer a compliment, you’re marked. It’s a clique…the whole group of employees goes to Swabbie’s to have real fun. I suggest you consider doing to same!
I haven’t....
Read moreMy experience at Stoney’s Rockin Rodeo was nothing short of fantastic! I initially went with my coworkers for a Saturday night out, eager to learn line dancing and soak in the vibrant atmosphere. We opted to pay a little extra to come in early and practice our two-step, which was a great decision for someone like me, who usually keeps her feet planted firmly on the ground.
Learning line dancing proved to be a challenge at first, but the supportive atmosphere at Stoney’s made all the difference. The staff and fellow patrons were incredibly gracious and patient, helping me get the hang of it with encouragement and guidance. I truly appreciated their willingness to help a beginner like myself feel comfortable and included.
Once I hit the dance floor, any nerves or doubts melted away, and I found myself thoroughly enjoying the experience. There was a sense of freedom and joy in moving to the music, with no pressure other than the fun I was having. It was exhilarating to step out of my comfort zone and try something new, surrounded by such a positive and welcoming community.
In fact, I had such a great time that I decided to come back a few weeks later to celebrate my birthday at Stoney’s! The lively atmosphere, great music, and friendly faces made it the perfect place to mark the occasion and create lasting memories with friends.
Overall, Stoney’s Rockin Rodeo exceeded my expectations in every way. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or a newcomer like me, it's a fantastic spot to let loose, have fun, and experience the joy of dancing. I can't wait to return for more unforgettable nights of music, laughter, and...
Read moreI absolutely LOVE this place. There's live music, line dancing and even salsa on certain nights. If you don't know the line dances, they do teach one or two of them on Wednesday nights. There's a mechanical bull and restrooms located in the back. You can find a full service bar in the front, and a small one that sells bottled/canned drinks in the back. There's plenty of seating— inside and on the patio. (I've never had the food, so I can't vouch for that, but I've heard it's good.) I love that they provide water near the dance floor, and free nachos later in the night. The staff are awesome and super nice. The DJ does take song requests. Security is amazing and takes their job seriously cracking down on underage drinking, as they should.
*If I were to make a suggestion: Stoney's should seriously consider extending the dance floor. It gets really crowded on Wednesday and Friday nights.
**Another suggestion: provide ventilation and cooling for the booths near the dance floor. Everywhere else is nice and cool, but it's unbearable at the booths in the summer.
*A tip for newcomers: If you want to learn the line dances, take notes on the names of the songs and dances (the DJ does a great job announcing them beforehand), then look them up on YouTube and practice at home. You'll be good at them in no time! It's okay if you only know one or two line dances, just be patient with yourself...
