First of all I have to say, I always read restaurant reviews and even though they don’t have a great overall rating, some people had good things to say so we like to check it out for ourselves. I encourage anyone that reads this to do the same. We walked into the middle of trivia night-everyone was having a great time- The servers were quick to our table to get our order and were very friendly and polite. Drinks (water and a delicious mule) came in a timely manner. We ordered onion rings that took way too long but were tasty. We ordered a bbq platter, they were out of the chicken and the brisket-that’s understandable it was a little past dinner time. We were left with pulled pork and sausage choices. When the platter arrived the sausage was colder than room temperature and was similar tasting to polish sausage from the grocery store, nothing special and not smoke flavored. The pulled pork was also cold, and mushy and also did not have a smoke flavor. (You walk past a smoker on the way in to the restaurant) our side was a delicious Mac and cheese which was hot-and a bowl of coleslaw that tasted good. We had to send the meats back, which were returned to us soon after and were nice and hot. We think our food must have been sitting for a bit while the server was talking with someone at the bar. We had to ask for silverware because there wasn’t any on the table as usual. The place needs a good mopping, and clean up. The floors were pretty dirty, and some trash on the floor. There is so much potential in this place, and easy fixes, I would like to see them make it. We will give them some time and try them again, maybe on rib days-and get there earlier to try the brisket. There is great outside seating which is...
Read moreOk, so I've been waiting to try this place out and finally did. I'm gonna be honest, I think the owner's responses to the reviews on here is more or less what drew me in...lol. It's not everyday that you run across someone that could give Wendy's a run for their money in the way of internet comebacks 🤣. Anyway, onto the food...I had the burger, which was pretty good. I will note that it wasn't dripping with grease...huge plus in my book, especially as I had my two year old child in my lap and didn't think he needed a grease shower. My other child had the chicken tenders. She said "meh"....but don't let that discourage you...she's very picky and you might want to say a bit of a chicken tender snob. I thought they were decent. I think the winner of tonight's meal was the ranch dressing. That's the real MVP y'all!. Service was good. Our waitress was friendly and as attentive as she could be given that she seemed like she was helping a lot of people. Sorry, I didn't get her name, but she had very curly hair in a ponytail. Give that girl a raise! The place didn't seem too busy, but you could definitely tell who was hustling and who was barely lifting a finger. Girl wearing a gray shirt, with blonde-ish hair and long, red fingernails....never smiled, not once, and I don't recall her ever visiting a table or lifting a finger to do anything really. Everyone else was working...idk what she was doing. Practicing her best Grumpy Cat impersonation? Maybe she was just having a bad day...idk. I'll probably be back with...
Read moreService was great! -That's the only good thing I can say about The Garage - A Sports "Bad" B Q. I've had better food from a hospital cafeteria in all honesty... BBQ should be removed from their name and menu. The pulled pork was flavorless, wet, and just gross... The fries were sad. The caramelized carrots were not fully peeled, leaving a soft leathery texture from the remaining skin. The "cubano" was okay on the first bite, but was so salty and overpowering, I couldn't even finish half of the sandwich (and for me, it takes a lot to over-salt something). Not sure if it's untrained kitchen staff, or just an utter lack by management to care about the food they are serving to the customers that pay their salaries... I recommend avoiding this establishment at all cost. I've never been more dissatisfied with a meal and went to Culver's right after. Literally, all the food trucks and fast food restaurants in Green Valley serve better food than than The Garage. Judging by many other reviews, it seems the owner puts more time into making indignant responses than putting out a quality product. (I wish I'd read their responses to other reviews prior to giving them...
