Alms + Fare — Restaurant in Saint Augustine

We love Alms + Fare because of all the awesome gluten free options and DELICIOUS pastries. If they stuck to coffee and tea drinks they would be working with the perfect business model. But dramatic pause enter the smoothie. If the person ahead of you in line orders a smoothie you might as well go home. Their blender must not work because I watched the poor barista have to basically hand smash each berry with this long stick-like object just to get the blender to co-operate. If they order avocado toast? Don't come back until next week. If you return any earlier, the poor girl will probably still be in the back corner slicing each tomato individually and salting the avocado with her tears. Just pre-slice the tomatoes and keep them in the fridge ladies!

Don't get me wrong. We love Alms + Fare, and it's food is delicious, but we just can't come here any more if we have anything happening within an hour of our visit. Also, I think it's time to move to a larger space. You have such a successful business model and the demand is HERE in St. Augustine. You just need a space that corresponds with the demand.

Amazing bakery items for those of us with allergies! We were vacationing in St. Augustine a few weeks ago and were THRILLED to find this cute little bakery online! We contacted the owners ahead of time so we could also order a nut free cake. It was delicious! We also ordered the chocolate donuts and got a lemon bar, an oat milk hot cocoa and coffee while we were in the shop. Everything was PERFECTION! One person in our party said she can never find dairy free hot cocoa because most places have dairy in their mix, so she was so excited. It was a delicious oat milk hot cocoa! The employees/owners were incredibly accommodating to our multiple allergies and so incredibly friendly! They even provided us with all we needed to eat our cake in their store.
