We took an Old Town Trolley tour on Christmas Day 2024 in St Augustine.
One of the amazing things that we got to see was The Old Senator Tree, which is now about 650+ years old and still doing well and continues to grow in the courtyard of Villa 1565 on San Marco Ave, just a few blocks north of the Historical District in St. Augustine. It is well worth seeing. There are so many other old trees in the vicinity of the Senator and lots of photo opportunities. You get to drive along Magnolia Avenue, which houses many live oak trees, beautiful old mansions, and is a very picturesque street. The Fountain of Youth Archealogical park is also on the way to the Senator. During the Night of Lights, the Senator is beautifully lit up at night and is a huge attraction...

Give it a few feet of space with a fence around it? 5 stars are for the tree. -50 for those who have covered its root system that will exponentially shorten its ability to survive and thrive as it could be otherwise. Definitely have shortened its life by doing so and should be corrected before it...
