Fantastic place! There has not been a single thing that we've tried that has not been absolutely delicious! Of the appetizers we've had Nonna's meatballs, the whipped ricotta, and the cheesy garlic bread. My husband has never liked meatballs, but he has officially been won over with these. They are amazing! We have them every time we go. The texture is perfect; tightly packed but not dense. The sauce (sorry - I'm not a Northerner so I just can't call it gravy) is not acidic at all. It's perfectly balanced and light. The whipped ricotta...my goodness. It's light, flavorful, and a perfect balance of sweet and savory.
The Heroes - we've had the Fat Paulie and the Chicken Parm. Honestly, the Fat Paulie might just be the best sandwich I've ever had. The bruschetta is bright and fresh. The balsamic vinaigrette is quite possibly the best I've ever tasted.
Pizzas: We've had the deep dish pizza (Nuts and Bolts), the Hot 97, the Butcher Shop, and the meat calzone (we added mushrooms and onions. The nuts and bolts is my favorite. The twice-fermented crust is light and thick without being dense. But the cheese skirt effect on the outside of the crust - from being baked in a deep dish - is where the magic happens. If you like cheesy, crusty corners, this is your jam!
Entrees: We've tried the Penne Alfredo (we swapped penne for spaghetti and added shrimp), and the Spaghetti Bolonese. The spaghetti Bolonese is spot on. It is absolutely delicious. I never order spaghetti at a restaurant because it feels so week-night dinner-ish, but this Bolonese is a treat. It is apparent that every dish is prepared with high-quality ingredients, and that the chef loves food and loves his craft because it comes thru in every dish that is set on the table. Bronx house is not just your average pizza place. Every single dish is elevated and full of quality and flavor. Bronx House has quickly become our favorite place. We're trying to make our way thru the whole menu and are already planning our next meal lol!
Also, we've had several great servers at our St Augustine location. Both Abby and George are personable, fun and attentive! We appreciate great service, especially because it seems so rare these days. They are...

Nestled in the charming streets of St. Augustine, Bronx House brings a bold and satisfying taste of New York Italian flair to Florida. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere buzzed with warmth and that comforting scent of oven-fired goodness. My lunch adventure kicked off with an appetizer that turned out to be anything but ordinary—mozzarella sticks, served piping hot just as I’d requested. Each bite was a gooey masterpiece of cheese and crisp breading, with the tangy marinara sauce playing perfect harmony. I’ve had mozzarella sticks from dozens of places, but Bronx House absolutely takes the crown. My mouth was practically composing sonnets between bites.
Next came the Italian Combo hero, an open-faced wonder stacked high with ham, pepperoni, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, lettuce, tomato, and a drizzle of oil & vinegar. Yes, I had to go all in with a wide-mouth bite to fit it all—but every layer delivered rich, bold flavor. It wasn’t just a sandwich; it was a culinary handshake from the Bronx itself.
To round out the experience, I ordered The Beast of Burden pizza to go, and it lived up to its name—an epic, hearty pie that didn’t let up until the last scrumptious slice. Even hours later, the flavors held strong, making my takeout feel like a bonus encore.
Final Verdict:
Whether you’re local or passing through, Bronx House is a must-stop for anyone craving killer Italian eats, friendly service, and a vibe that makes you feel like you’re part of the family. With this location in St. Augustine and nine others scattered across Florida, you’re never too far from your next bite...
Read moreWe used a delivery service and, as expected, the food arrived warm. Unfortunately, the pizza wasn’t up to par—it tasted like a dollar-slice knockoff. The sauce was barely there, and the cheese was so minimal it felt more like flavored crust than an actual pizza. For a large pie, this was disappointing. I’ve had better free pizzas from Domino’s and, honestly, even frozen pizza beats this.
Our kids (ages 5 and 8) weren’t fans either. My partner put it best: “This tastes like pizza you grab after the club when you’re too drunk to care.” If you gave this pizza five stars, you either caught them on an exceptional day—or you might not know what great pizza tastes like. The cheese calzone with chicken and spinach wasn’t much better. It used frozen spinach (which is fine), but where was the garlic? Where was the seasoning? It was bland and forgettable.
To be fair, I’m open to a second experience. If they step it up next time, I’ll update this review accordingly. I’m not saying don’t give them a shot—just don’t be surprised if it...
