We go here every year . Nice place to hike and see the beautiful waterways filled with fish and turtles as you walk over the raised cement bridges. Full of history about the early Spanish Settlers as well as the Nuns who lived and worked near here and the graves of brave Confederate soldiers buried here. Nice monuments to different Saints . Historic Catholic Church ,but I wish they'd open the doors back up,as I miss going in and lighting memorial candles inside of the historic Church. I do light Memorial candles in memory of my deceased family members every year, but I don't enjoy the place where it is done now,as there is no privacy for prayers . I don't like the fact that picnic tables full of laughing and joking tourists are there as you pray and light the candles. It would be nice to have the candle lighting place in a more Church like ,private area,so that people can worship and reflect. The picnic tables are nice, but just shou not be by the candle lighting area ,in my opinion. Also, the souvenirs are way over priced now. Ridiculously so,since they moved the gift shop to the other side of the park. Before anyone could find beautiful items at fair price, but now they prices are too high. I do recommend this historic place ,whether you are a Catholic or not as it is very beautiful...
