We met with the owner for a private event. We had our rehearsal dinner here. In our two meetings prior to the event the owner said that the restaurant would be closed down an hour before our event started to ensure no guest would in the restaurant for our event. We asked how much that would cost and she assured us that because of the number of people we were having that she would do it for free. The night comes and we show up 5 minutes after our event was supposed to start 7:05pm and more than 20 people are at the bar and at tables eating and drinking. When confronted she said they were “wrapping up.” We had around 35 people coming so we wanted the whole space and were willing to pay for it but since she assured us that she would close it down. Instead there were two tables crammed in the corner about 2 feet between them. With a lot of area in the middle. I was furious that we were told we got the whole area and instead the waiters and waitresses and to ask people to move their chairs in order to serve everyone drinks. We were also told we could play a slide show in the tvs and have access to a microphone system for speeches. When the time came and all the other guest finally left 2 hours and 15 minutes after the restaurant should have been closed down(8:15pm) we asked a a waiter for the microphone and help us hook up a slideshow. No microphone was available and the tv wasn’t working with their computer. It took me and a friend 10 minutes to figure out an alternative to play the photos. When we attempted to confront her about this, the waiter told us that she had left?!? During a private event that she was leading horribly. At this point I was so furious I couldn’t even eat I was so disappointed, I wanted to make it a good night for my future wife but it was a real let down. Especially since there were so many places on Main Street that would have made things right the first time.
If you’re thinking about hosting an event here don’t I suggest going to Tony’s on Main instead.
Overall the food is good. I have no complaints about the staff. Only complaint is the owner and her unwillingness to correct the issue. When we asked for some money back she gave us a gift card.
I have never once in my life felt the need to write a review until today. My first review is for savor a 1 star due to the...
Read moreWe tried for the first time. Waitress was a bit slow. She took one person's order, then left, and we had to wait for her to come back for the rest of our orders...??? There was 6 of us. Then one person would order a 2nd drink, and she didn't ask if anybody else needed another drink, she just left. She did this all evening! We had to keep waiting for her to come back and had to tell her the rest of us wanted drinks too.
Three of us ordered corned beef and cabbage. The food was good, but the portions were horribly small for a $16.99 meal. I got a fair amount of meat, but only 2, yes 2 potato chunks, and about 1/3 cup of cabbage. The potatoes and cabbage came on a plate the size of a coffee cup saucer, that's how small the servings were! I ALWAYS have leftovers. This was barely enough for one meal! I asked the person that brought out our food if me and the other two people that ordered corned beef and cabbage could please have more potatoes and cabbage. She told me that she told the cook (or whoever made our plates, ) that the portions were really small. She brought back one small plate, with four small potato chunks on it, so we all three split it, so now we each had 3 small potato chunks, not even one whole potato, and it also had about 3 tablespoons of cabbage, NOT kidding. It didn't come with bread or rolls and butter. I asked if they had butter and bread and they brought some out. The food tasted good, but it was a kid-sized meal, for $16. Definitely NOT worth it. Two people got cheeseburgers and said that were good, not sure how much they cost.
The service was not good. The waitress kept leaving and we had to keep waiting for her to come back to order something. Not once did she come back after we got our food, to ask if everything was okay, or to see if we needed anything.
We ate there on St. Patrick's Day and there was only one other table when we arrived. For the cost of my meal, the quantity of food, and the bad service, I'm not sure if I'll be back. It is a new place, so I may give it another chance, and would hopefully not get the same waitress. I wonder if she had ever even waitressed before?

Read moreUPDATE* Fourth Time was the charm!!!
I get it, they're new. But I can saw NOW, they are on point. The Bruschetta with Shrimp Ceviche was gold! The Maple Bourbon Pork Chop was incredible and perfectly paired with truffle fries. The Crawfish Ravioli were delicious. But we ended with a bang with the Lemoncello Cake, Mud Pie, and a sent from God Apple Dumplin!
It took a bit getting here, but this is a definite 4/5 Stars. Check it out, and remember, if it's not perfect, just try again. I had a feeling they Savor had what it takes to survive Main Street in St. Charles, and this time they proved themselves worthy!!!
PREVIOUS REVIEW FOR THE JOURNEY
#1 The Truffle Fries are incredible!
It's a new place, so I'll give them a third try.
The first time, they were out of anything with steak or chicken, then 45 minutes after we put our order in, the server told us they were just starting our order in the kitchen, but they were now out of the crawfish ravioli and asked for a replacement. We were running late for a movie so we had to cancel our food, the drinks were a 5 star, but only because they were heavy on the pour.
A week has passed, and we came back. The only thing available were appetizers and flatbreads, I ordered the bruschetta with a $6 upgrade for shrimp ceviche, which was misheard and brought as the $16 shrimp appetizer, mistake, but decent, so I let it go. The bruschetta was plain and very simple, I'll make sure the shrimp ceviche is on it next time. The southwest flatbread was ok. The drinks were good, but not as heavy.
All in all, the flavors are there, the atmosphere is on point. I'll give them a third try, because it's a new place, in a busy neighborhood, I'm hoping the steak is in abundance and the brussel sprouts are mouth watering.
UPDATE Third time's a charm...ish, the wings were good, but just normal wings. The bacon cheeseburger and adult grilled cheese were a 4/5, but still being out of pork chops, steak, and crawfish ravioli makes me wonder when I need to be there for it to be available. I almost want to try again. It's a coin toss.
I'd recommend trying it out, but have an alternative pick in mind cause they'll probably not have what...
