This was my fourth time coming. I have come alone, brought my dad and brought a friend. The ice cream was great as always, but the service was strange to say the least. I brought a friend here last Sunday, but the shop was closed due to cold weather. I brought the same friend back today, and I got two scoops and he got one. After telling him how much I enjoyed the honey comb flavor during a previous visit and that I would pay for another scoop for him if he liked it too, he asked for a sample of the honey comb. He was informed samples weren't allowed once we had started eating what we had purchased. I mentioned that we had driven all the way over the week before when they closed due to cold weather, hoping they would realize I had already had an inconvenient experience trying to spend money in their shop and hoping they would stop making this experience awkward. They instead informed me they have rules they have to follow that owner put in place. Needless to say, I left without purchasing the second scoop, and I wish I could say we would be back. By the way, at the age of 40, this is the first negative review I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe decided to stop in at the last minute before going to our car. We had been at Christmas traditions all afternoon. My 14 year old daughter had her Canon camera with her because she had been taking pictures at Christmas traditions. As soon as we get towards the counter, an employee tells my daughter thereās no photography allowed and goes into a big shpeel about it. The man behind the counter joins in and were both being rather loud about it. There were other customers at a couple tables and they were all watching. Then the man tells her she can look at the rule book if sheād like, so she said yes. #1. We only came in to get floats. #2 She only had her camera because we were on the way back to our car to leave. #3 Sheās obviously a teenage girl, not a professional photographer. After we let them finish their shpeel and were finally able to order, I told the girl āItās not a big deal, we came in to get floats and sheās been taking pictures outside.ā She said āI just saw a camera and was like thatās not allowed.ā Maybe wait until it looks like someone is going to take pictures before embarrassing a kid for no...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSugarBot Creamery is a very fun and "retro" ice cream shop! I think the last time that I saw the word "phosphate" in print was back in AP Chem a million or so years ago. At SugarBot, phosphate sodas (sort of ancestors of milkshakes) are available for purchase, and although I didn't get one on my visit, I can state that their ice cream was excellent! I got a two-scoop sundae with hot fudge, and I'm glad that I went for two flavors (one was Java chip, and one peanut butter-chocolate). Whipped cream and a cherry on top, of course! The kids were over the moon, and really everyone had a great time there. My son got the 'Happiest Birthday' ice cream flavor in a waffle cone. I will say that the prices for the single scoop are very reasonable, but the prices for the double seem slightly high. Doing the math, they are almost exactly double the price of the single, so there is essentially no savings for getting more. I'd love to feel like I'm getting a big of a bargain with a larger size, but other than that I have no complaints! They did put the ice cream on a scale when they scooped it, which was...
