Cedar Garden — Restaurant in Saint Clair Shores

We will never come back. We come back from Florida twice a year and always bring friends and family to this fantastic establishment which truly does have great food and the people we’re always proud. This time we walked in and two disgruntled customers left before us saying “did you know they were carry out only”? Not to be dissuaded we decided we would just order and wait. My mother said “I didn’t know you were carry out only.” The young girl cashier replied in a snarky and condescending tone which couldn’t be confused with the ignorance of her youth “Well, we’ve been like this for a while now.” That’s when we decided enough is enough and didn’t order. She did apologize when we told her we were from Florida. But we were too disgusted with her that decided we would leave and I explained to her we would never come back. Hopefully this company improves but we won’t ever waste our time...

My family and I used to love this place. Amy is one of the best, most kind hearted people that works there, which is why the 2 stars are there. I just got food poisoning from the place. My shawarma platter came with just chicken and rice (not even the onions!) and I had to ask for pita bread! The chicken did not look good to me at all, and it just tasted funky so I barely ate it. My moms chicken looked fine and cut in bigger pieces as for mine looked like the scraps from her meal or leftovers that somebody didn’t eat. Salad was good, drenched in dressing as usual. Garlic sauce was not the same today! Had a lot of oil on it. Currently just got done throwing up and exploding from the other end so very disappointed and unhappy. Unfortunately I won’t be...

Updated Review 2024: It's a sad day, but I must announce it's an end of an era. Cedar Gardens is a restaurant in decline and can not be long for this world.

What was once thee best, pound for pound Mediterranean Restaurant on the east side is no longer what it once was. The facility is DISGUSTING, THE KITCHEN IS REPREHENSIBLE, and the service is no longer interested in providing excellent customer service.

I have not been into the facility since precovid. But have ordered from there at least 20 times. The food quality has slipped gradually since covid. Additionally the refuse to provide you what you order, they refuse to get your order correct. Not once in the past 20 takeout orders have they...
