Athenian Shish Kebob — Restaurant in Saint Clair Shores

Horrible past year was so rude to me it was ridiculous she kept rolling your eyes when I ask for something that wasn't on the menu to go she said can you read this is a Greek restaurant and handed me a menu through the window. I ordered a julienne salad and a piece of baklava The Baklava was $4 very very small the pieces they had displayed were cut to nice sizes. When I got home and opened the julienne salad there was one egg two slices of tomato hardly any meat or cheese. It was basically just a big box of lettuce. I had the same salad there about a month ago and I ate in the restaurant. The salad cost me $10. I also purchased a bottle of their Greek dressing which is excellent for $4.95. A young man came in right after I placed my order and sat waiting for it she was chatting chatting chatting smiling smiling. They brought my salad out and she let it sit there while she continued to talk to him I interrupted and said excuse me but I believe that's my salad I'd like to go I'd already paid for it. I will never go back there again there are too many restaurants to go to that have good food and good people she needs to get a job packing boxes not dealing with the public. I’ve been coming to this restaurant for years and usually have no problems. However after dinning in today (5/12/22) I’d like to address my concerns. First I’ll start with the wait staff on evening was amazing. Great girls, working hard. Food was great too.

However the older lady behind the counter cashing people out was extremely RUDE. Yelling at the waitress for having to take up the bill for a table that left without cashing out. It was just down right embarrassing of her to do that in front of the customers. Another guest said he refused to check out and just leaves his payment on the table just so he doesn’t have to deal with her. In almost all restaurants the waitress brings the check up for the guest. I certainly wouldn’t appreciate anyone yelling at me in front of the entire restaurant for something I had no control over. I mean they left it on the table how else was it going to get cashed out! She doesn’t belong in any type of position where she gets to treat...

Food was great but the place is cramped for the volume of customers they serve. You may get run over by staff just trying to make it to your seat. Front desk cashier was rude and gave us a hard time over salad dressing and plasticware. Claiming she thought we were going straight home. Then we were only offered forks for a full breakfast and salad. She scowled at my husband even though he asked politely and proceeded to give him 1 small cup of ranch for a large salad. Their saving grace from our previous visit was the cooks, an eager friendly bus boy, and a nightshift waitress who was fast and accurate. The rest of the staff was standoffish, unfriendly, and stared at us as if we were an inconvenience. For the waitress who volunteered to serve us, we made sure to tip over half of our bill.
