The Cheesecake Shoppe & Café — Restaurant in Saint Clair Shores

I visited again after a while of not visiting. I went through a long testing of different cheesecake. I enjoyed the cheesecake factory brand from Walmart but they stopped stocking it. I remembered this place. So I ran up there today. The cheesecake is better than I remember. The guy at the counter is always nice and enjoys talking. I get a sense he owns the place, he seems to have a genuine interest in cheesecake. They make specialty cheesecake I believe. I just seen below they might offer slices. I bought a family size New York style plain and a cheesecake cupcake. I had the cupcake after dinner. Very good. They have an easy entry way so I imagine it's wheel chair accessible. I would assume it's child friendly. It's very colorful and cakes presented very nicely. They have coffee available and drinks. I park just south of the entry next to the bar. It's an easy walk and nicely lit up with people having fun in what looks like a well behaved bar. You feel the heat from the infrared heaters of the outside area of the bar on the way up. I bought a regular cheesecake and a slice of the oreo cheesecake for a family party a few weeks ago. I've never been a big cheesecake fan because I find most of them, mainly store bought, taste too artificial and sour to me. But these cheesecakes were hands down the BEST I've ever had! The flavor was perfect, it was creamy and light, and fluffy. And I've honestly been craving it ever since. And their oreo cheesecake is next level. You can taste that they use the real name brand Oreos for the crust and mix them into the cake. On top of that their staff is very friendly and explained their whole menu to me. I can't wait to come back...

This place is one if THEE BEST hidden gems in all of the metro Detroit area. I stopped in for a cup of coffee. The staff was polite, courteous & accommodating. I was surprised as to the various different coffee types they had & I sampled a few. Every single one of them were absolutely delicious. Far superior than any gas station or fonut place. Well worth the trip in alone but then the CHEESECAKE! I counted well over a dozen different kinds of cheesecake. I wish I could have tried them all. I will eventually. This place is well worth going out of your way for. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try....
