Read all the positive reviews so my wife and I tried them out. Unbelievable quality and portions! Also clean and friendly inside. We have tried at least a dozen Macomb County Mid Eastern restaurants and have been disappointed with dried out chicken, kafta, shwarma, etc. Not here, all juicy. We prefer onions and green peppers instead of rice...wow did they deliver perfection on this request...even the carrots which I usually avoid had to be eaten by me due to the appearance, very tasty:) My brain cannot even process how good this food is! We ordered the $40 platter to eat at home and it's fantastic. Food for later and tomorrow too! Plenty of pita bread for wraps:):):)The Toum spread (garlic dip) is great too! The only restaurant that can come close to this is Malek Kebabs but they are in Dearborn and Livonia and not close to us. Yes, only Maleks can claim to be on this level...nobody in Macomb County that we have tried can top this:) I will not mention names that have dried out food or tiny portions because the only name that matters here is Sahara. We simply do not got to the others any more. Sahara will be tried many more times. If they are consistent and only minor errors occasionally, then they have our business for life after that:):):) This is delicious food!!! Thank you previous reviewers!!! You are the reason we found this "Gem"!!! Also, thank you everyone for reading my review!!!

I've been coming her for years, I've always looked past the crap customer service, no smile the look of annoyance because the food was good, well not anymore. I ordered the starter combo, hummus, tabouli, and baba ghanoush, and a plate of chicken and plate of beef plus a sliced onion on the side with a small garlic sauce. The hummus came out of a can, I know I grew up making the stuff, so bland and thick, the tabouli was giant pieces of parsley and wrinkly old tomatoes, no lemon on the side, was made with haste the real insult was the fake lemon juice they used instead. DIsgusting. Then the baba, it was goopy and slimy. The garlic sauce was sour I assume it was rancid, also the onion was visably refrigerated for days and then served,, it was bad.. plates of meat never came. He served all the carry outs before us even if they came in and ordered. Finally I got up paid and left. Took the meat home for the stray cats and they wouldn't even eat it.. No apology no nothing. Bye Sahara it's been fun. Edit. This is 3 years later and a friend ordered meat pies from there and look at this empty hot pocket. Seriously gives middle eastern food a bad name. Disgusting. 5 dollars for old freezer burned empty meat is crazy. Lucky for them this was take out, so not only will I never go again neither will.my friend.

Came to simply get a Guava and Strawberry smoothie and was pleasantly surprised! The honey gives it a much different flavor than typical smoothies and that was a fun surprise, tastes great. Inside is very clean and well kept, perfect environment for any family wishing to dine, smells very good from the outside.

My wife and I are tired of restaurants that don't produce consistent results.

This this is my first restaurant review.

I would like to start off with the service... For example- When my wife and I have to ask to get more water or ask to get our bill then its obvious that's its time to get off your CELL phone and start serving!!!! The judgemental remarks when my wife and I walk into Sahara's have totally changed my perspective about the server and this company.

The "Ijustwantyour$" & "i don't really care about your time"kind of attitude has really shown its ugly head this past summer.

This past summer the food here has tasted either old, unflavored or oily. I gave Sahara's numerous amounts of chances to prove that it wasn't just a one time mess up with their food or service but once a month I would come here "this summer of 2014" and they have proven us WRONG.

I give it a rating 1 out of 10.

Here's the things.- this restaurant has tasted great and even the best at times. Since this past summer this company has now developed a poor habit of not serving freshest food possible and friendly customer service.. And it will never change unless people like ME say something.

I can continue to rant but I don't have time for it. No more will my hard earned money be given to such a company as this.

Peace!

Oh & By the way I called the restaurant 3 times before I put up this review to let the owner know how I really felt about them and what do you know? No answer.

I...
