To say I give this five stars does not mean it's a five star restaurant, for me. It is a diner, but a diner with very tasty food and great service. Our waitress was a thin last with glasses and long hair; I'm really sorry I didn't catch her name. She was a dynamo. Very polite, efficient, and knowledgeable. She was respectful of our time, and our company. We entered in on a Wednesday morning, five of us, celebrating my sister's birthday. The place was pretty full, but not as full as the parking seemed to say. We parked in the street, a block away. A short walk, normally no problem, though it was raining. Unfortunate they didn't have a larger lot, but to their defense, it seemed to accommodate most, and we were arriving for breakfast around 10:15. A large enough table was near the door, and my sister happened to seat herself right next to another woman celebrating her birthday that day as well; though a tad older. Our waitress quickly found us, gave us menus, and gathered our drink orders. Within 5 minutes, drinks came and breakfast orders went in. Another note on this great waitress, at the time, she seemed to be the only one in the place. The menu selections were more than plentiful. My party hit the egg white omelet, the Big breakfast, French toast, the Build your Bowl, and the Grits Bowl. Special requests on the orders did not phase the waitress at all. It was all sort of texted on a kind of computer, and I assume, sent right to the kitchen. The aromas were delightful, and it wasn't too noisy, to squelch our conversing. Everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy their food. Our only suggestion would be to offer smaller portions at lower prices. Everyone walked away very full and satisfied. My one son even had to take some of his Big breakfast home with him... And he's a good eater. All in all, it was a delightful experience. I would not mind going there again. You might consider it a bit pricy, but it was good size portions, excellent service, nice atmosphere, and very tasty food....
Read moreExcellent food, great service! Just so this doesn't sound odd years from now, it's April of COVID-19. Both employees were wearing masks and gloves and being extra careful. They had a table to set the food on so that everyone could stay 6ft away. Pick up or delivery only right now, but customers were all staying 6ft to pick up food. I almost passed on the pita bread with my salad, but they talked me into it and it was amazing. The balsamic dressing was some of the best I've had. I found myself dipping everythign in it and even saved the leftover! It reminds me of Papa Lou's dressing if you've ever had it. The Grubhouse pita, poutine fries (with brown gravy of course!) and burger that the rest of the family got were equally good i'm told. Have been there pre-pandemic and always had a good experience, but wanted to share the caution they're taking and that the quality of food is still great! Both the gentleman cooking and the one cashing people out were so kind and it was nice to have some safe, masked, 6ft interaction with someone outside the family as a bonus...
Read moreSmall quiet breakfast place. They inflate their pricing by advertising they are a brunch restraunt. I paid 18.00 for a breakfast. It was french toast eggs and bacon. Over priced for sure. They al didn't disclose there was a surcharge for using a card. So when I payed with card and the bill came it was higher then expected. Also I was charged extra for scrambled eggs? Since when is there an extra charge for scrambled eggs. I love brunch restraunts and dont mind paying for good or even decent food. This food was made right but after the shell shock of the bill that was only a 13.00 meal. Turning ik into 18.00 I'm not at all excited or thrilled to reccomend the place.
The place needs some updates especially with that type of pricing. The meal wasnt fancy or served with any type presentation. I didnt get drink or coffee just breakfast. 3.00 tip. Paint is missing on building. While decent food will probably not return due to other factors and there being so many nice places to eat and get great food for the...
