Vasi’s Cafe and Bake Shop — Restaurant in Saint Clair Shores

TLDR: Don't waste your time, this isn't the place it use to be. You'll literally get the same coffee and donuts at a gas station.

I asked for a Cafe Moca (located under specialty drinks) and a couple doughnuts. The worker walked over to the same cappuccino machines gas stations, pressed the button and then added coffee to it. You can't call yourself a Cafe when you literally serve gas station coffee. There's nothing speciality about that drink

The doughnuts tasted and looked identical to those you find at a 7 11. I asked if they make them fresh here. He said "Fresh daily", I don't believe him. There's no way.

I came here reluctantly because the previous donut shop was lack-luster.

Unfortunately the new owners have not improved much other than the aesthetic of the location.

I’ve stopped on two occasions to try their donuts, and on both stops, the vanilla cream (aka butter milk icing filled) donuts were minimally filled, and the center of the donut was pasty and raw.

The PB & J donut was stated to be filled with strawberry, and indeed had a raspberry/cherry like flavor, and the PB topping was thick enough to almost cement your mouth closed. The sour cream donut was also undercooked, and the glaze was overly dry, and the dough was undercooked as well.

Terrific donuts and cake and coffee creations. This place is the real deal - it is excellent. However, are you ever open? According to Google, you are supposed to be open until 9pm. Out of the last 4 trips I've made, you were open once. I'd understand if you changed your hours under your Google description temporarily if you are having COVID-related problems finding workers or something - even something on the door would be better than guesswork.
