To start: I understand they JUST opened. There is going to be some issues. With that said, I want to share my experience.
First, I went up to order and they didn't have tofu. (They ran out right before the dinner rush). Okay, I understand. So I couldn't order the $8 sandwich my husband wanted. We both decided to go with the Pho Special. (Approximately $15 each bowl)
I told the cashier "I will need an extra bowl. I also want an order of spring rolls and Thai Tea" (an extra bowl was so I could share my Pho with my toddler)
We received our Pho reasonably quick. The Pho was delicious. The spring rolls were NOT.
I reminded the lady who brought our Pho that I was still missing my Thai Tea and my spring rolls. My husband went up to the cashier after we finished our Pho and once again asked "Where is our spring rolls?"
The cashier had no clue.
So we asked again. (Our 3rd time asking where our food was) After an hour and a half, our TWO spring rolls came out. They were falling apart and when I took the first bite, I realized they never took the basil off of the stem. A majority of the spring rolls (that were $3 per spring roll, which is also a ridiculous price in my opinion) was basil stem. The basil was also less than quality. (It looked and tasted like it was going bad) I believe whoever is making the spring rolls needs to be retrained. The quality was definitely lacking.
My husband was very upset and wanted to request a refund on the spring rolls. But the cashier told us "Sorry, we already closed out your order." 🤦♀️
My husband and I discussed our experience in the car and both of us were less than impressed. We waited a long time for Pho Haven to open and we were extremely excited to find out they opened.
Again, I understand that there is going to be issues. Especially since they first opened and we're in the middle of a Pandemic.
With that said, the prices are extremely over priced for what you get. There is no manager or owner around to make sure the patrons are happy with their service. The quality of their non-pho food is low. I'm hoping to change this review in a few months. However, my review is currently 2...
Read moreI know they just opened but it’s not an excuse for the MESS that place is. The layout is opposite to their ordering system; you don’t walk by the ingredients area, choosing them, etc, and pay, no.. you go to the end and order and the ingredients area is just there for them to use or take from. The cashier was polite but you can tell he was completely outed from the rest of the staff. I have to say that the look on the staff faces was of utter confusion, besides the fact that they had approximately 10-12 ppl on staff who was packing and unpacking food as you can see them going back and forth looking for whoever order what they were carrying around but were not there or was not take out (I saw it unpacking it and serving it). The place is tiny and tight so when three families go in... forget social distancing. We ordered and waited for 30 minutes to have our food, to the point where we thought they didn’t have our order, but about 25 min into waiting a lady came to the table reporting that they ran out of beef broth and if okay to have chicken instead. We had to accept. The tables were fairly clean but the seats had food in them so I sat on one of the cushions (was more comfortable anyway). The outside seating area is a nice touch but was crammed and there were dishes from prior customers on the tables so we decided to have a seat inside. I have to say, the food was okay and it could be a local option to save me the trip downtown where we have our favorite place but I really hope they get it together or for 10-more minute ride I can have real Pho...
Read moreI came here the first time ordering the pho with steak and meatballs. They forgot the meatballs on my order. Everything tasted fresh, but the broth seemed light on the beef flavor. I came here the second time for a to-go order. They got all of the small details and condiments in my order correct, but again the broth was not as hearty as what you would expect with the other Vietnamese restaurants on Colonial and Mills. The fried eggrolls was just ok. My third visit, I got a summer roll and the Banh Mi. The bread did not have the light crispiness to it that I am used to with Banh Mi sandwiches. The pork was not grilled either. The owners should be proud of their workers. It is a great group of people that are working there. But overall, the place is charging 5 star prices for 3-4 star food, so it may be underwhelming for some people. It is a new place, so I'm sure there will be room for improvement.
