230pm. Two on tables, 2 waiting for take out. Not acknowledged. Seated myself. Drink order diet coke. ($3.25) not posted on the lunch menu. Lunch menu is limited and cryptic. Only "specials" no descriptions. Ponytail waitress wiping tables, unfriendly, explains lunch menu means only lunch being served. Duh! I have to ask if I can have my order taken. Order placed 2:43. Shrimp with lobster sauce ($10.50) Soup cup delivered at 2:50. No choices. Wasn't listed. Tastes burned. Full of carrot bits...in egg drop soup!
Plate delivered at 2:56. Egg roll is all wrapper and some carrot bits and what appears to be cabbage but it took until second bite to get at it.
Drink refill offered. It's been empty for 6 minutes.
Fried rice isn't. It is "broken rice" mince bits. Hey...no carrots! Entree is 8-9 tiny overcooked shriveled shrimp, spread among snow peas and ... wait for it...more carrots. Presentation unimpressive. Do they own a carrot farm? All plates on all tables overwhelmed with carrots! Plates going back to scullery half eaten. Few want boxes for leftovers. I notice a special couple getting special treatment from Ponytail girl. They got hugs on arrival. Every else like me...ignored.
8 tables occupied now. 3:10. She asks if I need anything at this time. Nope. 14 minutes since food dropped off.
It's 57 degrees outside. Two ceiling fans twirl above our heads chilling our food. Why? Ceiling fans blow microbes around. It's not hot out. Why the extra germs on the side? At least they are free!
Wondering how long it will be before I am presented the bill.
I know this isn't a typical review, but I do mystery shopping as a side gig for a ISO certified firm.
Their old place burned in a fire. (Probably the soup). not sure what they did with the insurance money, but the place is stark, chairs uncomfortable, food was a zero.
Glad I spared my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLast time i checked, chinese food was CHEAP and GENEROUS with the portions cause how cheap it is to make but at the same time, really good.
I don't know what's with chinese joints in St George/Washington but there's a tendency where they try to sell you really mid quality food for an elevated price and the portions seem like the amount my 10 year old nephew would eat (Yeah, im looking at you Panda Express), and this restaurant is no exception to that rule.
I really miss California where you can go to any Chinese joint and get a full heavy a$$ platter of food for like 12 bucks and you know it was really good Chinese food, for almost 12 bucks this is straight up insulting (See photo). And im not making this up, that's the actual portion for a 12 dollar "lunch".
How do you expect a hungry 6'2" grown man to be satisfied with these portions, like dude, cmon, there's not even 2 ounces of beef on this lunch, don't worry, i won't be coming back, i should have went to Ocean Buffet instead but i wanted to give it a try cause i wasn't feeling like going to a buffet and eat like i haven't eaten in 3 days.
Chinese food really do suck in this town. But whatever, i don't see myself visiting this place again, not with those portion sizes. The cashier girl was really nice and she was pretty. Aside from that, wouldn't recommend visiting this place, food was meh, place looks good, too bad the food isn't on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were very disappointed. We looked online to decide what we wanted. Picked it 7 items and from what the prices said online it should have been $62 plus taxes. When we walked in our food was waiting for us. And to my huge surprise the total was $92!!!!!! The prices we of between $1 and $4 for each item. We took the food home and was extremely disappointed in the portion sizes especially for the cost of the food. The fried rice is good but there is no onion or veggies literally just egg. The rangoons are just straight cream cheese literally no spices or green onion. The chicken curry was decent. The chicken was very bland. The beef and broccoli was ok but the carrots were not cooked at all. The egg drop soup literally had no flavor at all. Sesame chicken was fantastic but the portion was very very small! The pot stickers were very tasty. But seriously I can not get over the difference in the prices. The prices online were as followed Curry Chicken $8.95 egg drop soup 4.75 beef and broccoli 9.50 pot stickers 7.75 sesame chicken 12. 50 rangoons 5.75 2 shrimp fried rice 9.50. these are the prices we actually paid. Curry Chicken 11.95 soup 6.50 beef broccoli 12.50 2 shrimp fried rice 23.90 sesame chicken 14.95 pot stickers 8.25 rangoons 6.75. so definitely a big difference. Over all was very very...
