Prohibition Kitchen at St. Johnsbury Distillery — Restaurant in Saint Johnsbury

Gosh… dinner has to be my favorite meal. The menu looked great, the vibe seemed cool, but it sucked to leave feeling bummed out. We got seated quickly, our incredibly nice server came fast, drinks came almost immediately, then everyone disappeared. We sat for nearly 40 minutes, as the chef walked by and took a peek at our table with menus still on it. Then still, nothing (he probably had no idea how long we’d been there so not his fault). I came in with an appetite but the longer we sat, the less I wanted to be there so we skipped an app and dessert. My wife said she liked her burger but my flank steak was so small and the side it’s came with had so little flavor that it just got me bummed out. I wonder with only 5 star reviews if this establishment deletes anything less? Don't come here for anything more than drinks and apps. We had a reservation and they acted totally surprised that we were there. The service was super slow and they seemed like they didn't want to serve us cause we weren't locals. The pulled pork sandwich was pretty flavorless other than heat, the shepherds pie was SOOO dry with no sauce at all. They automatically put balsamic on the side salad without telling you and then ask you what kind of dressing you want so when you put the dressing on it it's super weird. My husband and I went here tonight for date night. We had never been here before, but we’ll absolutely be back! Really cool atmosphere and very clean. The Painkiller cocktail was delicious and strong, not all watered down like a lot of places. I had the Cauliflower Risotto, my husband got the Smash Burger, and we got a side of the Fried Brussels Sprouts to share. Excellent portions and prices for all that you get. Seriously was the best meal I’ve had since we moved here a little over a year ago! I can’t stop thinking about the flavors. Blown away. We’ll be telling everyone...
