Whirligig served up some good food on our afternoon visit!
We stopped by Whirligig for lunch while in town during our weekend in Vermont. Our visit was during a weekend afternoon and the establishment was busy.
The first thing we noticed about this menu is that it very much can cater to gluten sensitivities, as many of their options are available as gluten-free.
On our visit to Whirligig we ordered two sandwiches, the smoked chicken chipotle and the smoked pork chipotle, and a couple Ciders. Order and payment at Whirligig is taken at the bar and you take a number to your seat where the food is delivered to you once it's complete. There is some limited inside seating with a good number of tables outdoors under a covered patio.
Our food arrived after a 20 minute wait, which is a bit longer than what we are used to but we were conversing about our trip and we weren't bothered by the wait. Both the chicken chipotle and the pork chipotle sandwiches were absolutely delicious, packed with flavor, and very filling. I have to make a special shout-out to the bread, which was honestly in the conversation as some of the best bread I have ever had. This seems to have been a common theme with my bread experiences in Vermont, I would love to know your secret because the bakeries up there are doing something great!
Overall we enjoyed our experience at Whirligig and we would be happy to return here for another meal if we find ourselves back...
Read moreLiving close by we have been to this establishment several times. Each time is an exceptional personal experience. Just recently after being closed for renovation, we have finally had the opportunity to stop in. The renovation is amazing. Beautiful yet simple. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff are personable, friendly and are excited to be a part of the establishment. The bartender is knowledgeable and willing to strive for whatever mood, flavor and/or taste you are craving in the moment. There is a love of the art present in any drink he makes. As always the in house brewed beers are hands down, the finest in the region. There is a true love of the craft in all the beers crafted. The menu selection is amazing and always an excitement to eat. Their smoked pork is out of this world, also the kitchen witchery used to make the french fries are clearly crafted by a next level culinary sorcerer. This place is a MUST stop whenever in the area or take the drive out of your normal path. It is a WORTHY SIDE QUEST!! The owner puts his heart and soul into everything he does and it shows. He is always friendly and personable along with each and every member of the staff. Thank you for bringing both mouth watering culinary delights and delicious intoxicats of perfection to the area. Read moreStumbled upon Whirligig Brewing with my husband this afternoon and so glad we did! Chill atmosphere, good beer selection (especially if you are a sour beer fan) and the food was not at all what you typically find at a brewery. And that was a major selling point for me. Loaded kettle potato chips with smoked in-house shredded rib meat and raclette cheese - outstanding!! Many other great choices including full on raclette with fingerling potatoes (maybe next time when it’s not 90 degrees out). Jeff, the owner, is both brewmaster and chef and uber talented at both. Max, the bartender, was friendly, personable and attentive. Seriously a great experience overall....
