I can’t review the food here because we never saw any food. We came in for dinner on a Saturday night. The place was not full at all and we were seated right away. The place looked extremely disheveled- wrinkled table cloths, no place settings, etc., but our waitress took our orders fairly quickly which was encouraging. We ordered drinks, an appetizer, and our meals all at one time. And then we waited. And waited. And waited. Eventually my friend went up to the bar and asked the host about our drinks. He checked on them and they did finally come- but that was the only good thing about them. The beer that my dining companion ordered was warm, yuck, and my sangria, which was advertised to be full of fresh fruit, was served in a glass that was impossible to drink out of, and the fresh fruit was nothing more than a lemon and lime slice. This would all have been fine with us. We are easy. But we finished our drinks, and then we waited some more. There were no new guests. The place was still not busy. Finally my friend went to the bar again and asked the host for another beer. He was told that it would be right out. Again we waited and watched our waitress and the rest of the wait staff totally ignore us. It has been a long day for us, and we like to give everybody the benefit of the doubt, so we kept waiting just hoping that we would see food or another drink or at least have somebody stop by to let us know what the hold up was. Eventually we had had enough. We got up, paid for our two drinks, and left. We are now at a wonderful diner down the road enjoying some...
Read moreWent to Salt Bistro for a Valentine’s Day dinner with my husband. We were so excited to try it for the first time! When we were seated, we noticed that they had a fixed menu for the holiday, which we were unaware of. When we mentioned this to the server, she was astonished that no one had called us to inform us of this. I overheard that this happened to many other couples as well. The environment, table settings, and waitstaff attire did not feel conducive to a meal supposedly worth $125/person. Select courses on the menu were supposed to come with wine pairings, which we never got. I had to ask specifically to get our wine, and the server only brought one wine all night, so we did not get to experience the wine pairing. Additionally, they ran out of one of the entree options very early on in the evening, and I found plastic in my salad. When I mentioned this to the server, she apologized, but we were still handed a bill for $280 for two people. The food was not great, the place was practically empty, the price was OUTRAGEOUS for what we got, and we were very disappointed. When I kindly asked for something to be done for us on our bill for the salad incident (after she brought over the full bill) the server took $12 off of our $280 bill, and no one said anything further to us about it. Wish we had chosen to go somewhere else for Valentine’s Day! Unfortunately, we will not be returning to...
Read moreWent there last night with my wife, 12/17/22. While they were fairly busy, we waited an extraordinary time for someone to take our first drink order. During this time I noticed the runner, was confused every time he came out with an order. I don’t think there was one time that he went to the right table with food. We both go the traditional burger which was supposed to come with hand cut fries. We waited over 30 minutes after we got our drinks for our food order to come out. These are $18 burgers. They are frozen patties. These are flat hockey puck-like beef patties with no seasoning whatsoever. The burgers were so bland I couldn’t finish it. I know the patties were frozen because my burger was broken into 3 pieces which is indicative of pre frozen beef patties. The fries were not hand cut, it was clear they were also out if a frozen bag and we’re not hand cut but machine cut. Also, they were limo and soggy and luke-warm. We have been waiting 3 years to go to this restaurant. We haven’t had a bad meal in Vermont, until last night. Hopefully, they can do better for...
