China Garden Restaurant — Restaurant in Saint Joseph Charter Township

A few months ago (on 2024.04.18) my debit card was compromised (with 12 fraudulent transactions from Europe) hours after I made a purchase at their restaurant in Michigan, US. This is NOT confirming proof that the identity theft occurred through a faulty payment system at China Garden. There is no 100% confirming proof of that. But that is my hunch that my financial card was breached through something possibly insecure with the restaurants payment security. The financial card being compromised, plus an unpleasant dish of Kung Barf Shrimp (I just couldn't take all that celery!), caused me to lower my rating of China Garden. for now.

Until I get certainty of the security of their financial transactions, it is likely I still may return for some of their very good quality Crab Rangoon, but I will probably use cash, instead of an electronic payment.

THAT CHINESE FOOD TONIGHT! Good - GOOD!

I was so excited about tonight's Chinese food and trying China Garden for the first time tonight (on 2023.11.30). Man, I was not disappointed at all and that was good! What follows are descriptions of my two sides and then the spectacular entree.

The lobster fried rice was excellent - a fancy touch to the Chinese take-out classic.

The Green Delight was the perfect vegetarian dish, rich in a variety of, indeed, all green wok stirfry vegetables. In its simple, but "just right", brown sauce the Green Delight makes for a crispy fresh and flavorful, vegetarian healthy side.

The Orange Chicken tasted strongly, but not overpoweringly so, of rich orange - just enough so you're like "Oh yeah this is ORANGE chicken"! :😀

Was it a bit pricey for just "local chinese take-out"? No - it wasn't cheap, but the prices are reasonable for a superbly prepared meal of flavorful, fresh, tasty, and just incredible dishes. Again it wasn't "dirt cheap", but we got a large amount of some of the best "classic original" Chinese...

Well, went in for lunch with My wife. Went up to the counter and ordered food. The older lady asked if pork rice was fine, I said yes. Went to sit down while we waited and the smaller lady came back by and asked pork or veggie rice. I said pork was fine, My wife said veggies but I can still do pork. The lady walked away rolling her eyes. She's comes back with the food and said the food was already made and gave the kayne shrug 🤷‍♀️. We're eating now and I was reviewing how much I paid for this meal. Almost 17 bucks for 2 lunch specials and 3 egg rolls. As the waiter walked by she asked her the price of egg rolls and she replied "maybe if you looked at your receipt", I'm already appalled . At this point I already said I was never coming back. I see other customers walk in and I started listening to how different they were talking to them and saying thank you once they leave. I'm done eating at this time and my wifedidn't eat much. She went to the counter and asked for a box and she gave her the smallest one first and she needed a bigger one. The lady purposely put the box on the counter instead of her hands. Assuming they were having a off day but which racial issues we have going on, I'm calling...

This place is definitely not worth going to! The food is average; service is deplorable! The woman taking orders was yelling at and arguing with the customers. She snapped at me when I asked about ingredients due to two of our children having food allergies. She also argued with several customers who ordered their food in and she brought it in to-go containers, telling them, "I heard what you said! You said you wanted it to go! " When our food was brought out, we had to ask for plates to put it on so we could eat. The woman kept slamming our food down on the table. Then when we were done, we asked for containers, being specific as to how many we needed. We were given only half of what we asked for and had to keep going up and asking repeatedly to get the number we needed. The woman wouldn't even hand them to us, but set them down behind the counter and walked away. We had to walk behind the counter to get them! Don't waste your time here! There are definitely places with much better food and much...
