Go somewhere else for ice cream. Literally anywhere else. I have a friend who stops here everytime sheās in the area so we decided to try it. My friend must be blinded by nostalgia because it is a sad, rundown and poorly managed establishment. First off the building is dirty and falling apart. We had black residue on our hands after touching the counter when we ordered. There are no shaded areas in the afternoon so we had to sit in the full sun with our two young kids to eat our food. We were waiting at the ordering counter for 10-15 minutes before someone graced us with their presence. We had been standing there so long we had to ask other patrons if we were at the right place to order. Mind you there was no one in the drive thru or waiting for their food when we were trying to order. So someone finally shows up and takes our order. We ordered a cone for our son but they didnāt ask us what size and I didnāt know to specify since it was our first time there. So when we get our food, they hand us this massive ice cream cone that was taller than my kidās head. An adult doesnāt even need that much ice cream. So we scrapped over half of it off. My husband ordered a Frito pie and the employee said ok just to let you know we can still make it, weāre just out of chili. Um no thanks. We ordered the cheesy nachos instead. The nachos we got were beyond sad. Small pile of chips with a little nacho cheese that went over 4 chips. Then we needed a cup for the cone that was leaking out the bottom so I went up to the ordering window again and had to wait for someone to magically appear. Again no one else was waiting for food or in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf ratings were based on food alone this would be a 5 star. The ice cream was amazing. By far the best cookie dough mix in I have ever had. The service we had though was more of a 1 or 2 star. They closed at 10:30, we arrived at 10:10 and the employees were clearly unhappy with us being there. They were not friendly at all. While we were order, mind you 20 minutes before closing, they removed all the napkins from the tables. While we were eating the top of my 3 year olds oce cream fell off his cone. He was very upset and crying. They had closed the ordering window and I had to knock on the window to ask for napkins, they were annoyed. To top it off an employee started spraying down the tables with a water hose while we were eating. It was getting water all over us and my 6 month old baby in my lap. My mom had to be very loud in asking the woman to stop before she finally heard her. The ice cream was incredible but the service makes me not want to go back. My kids however were thrilled with the oce cream cone tables and the kids house and tables behind...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSoft serve heaven in a building that looks like a pink ice cream swirl! I had the Banana Boat, regular size, and was overwhelmed by how large it was. Chocolate, butterscotch, strawberry, ice cream, bananas, and lots of whipped cream. You might call this a banana split I'll call but I call it a delicious ice cream meal in itself! Our group also had a kids-size sugar cone with chocolate soft serve ice cream dipped in sprinkles, which was thoroughly enjoyed and not the least bit messy (ha!), & 2 Twisters with various ingredients. The staff was friendly, helpful, and very quick. Besides all of the ice cream delicacies they also serve a variety of food baskets which we might try the next time we come. Thank you, Kris & Kate's, for a pleasant ice cream surprise on a Memorial...
