This used to be one of our family’s “go-to” restaurants. We would often visit for big family events and birthdays, etc. The food is delicious and the service is great. However, I will no longer return as a customer after realizing that I cannot trust them as a business. When I noticed what I considered a fraudulent charge on my bank statement dated June 14, 2024 from this restaurant, I promptly called and asked to speak with a manager. The woman who answered did not transfer me to a manager she asked what I needed. I told her what had happened. She said that their machines were down on March 30th, so they processed all of the charges from that date on June 14th. When I questioned why it would have taken almost three months to process the charge, the woman on the phone could not give me an answer. This, to me, is an unethical business practice. Why were they unable to charge my card within a few days of dining? And how did they have my card information to charge me months later? I have no way of knowing what the actual charge was on March 30th, as I didn’t think to keep my receipt. I know I dined there, only because I took a picture of my family whilst there. I also know that I watch my accounts like a hawk and would have noticed if a preauthorization had not gone through in late March/early April. When I called my bank they told me I could fight the charge. Because I am an ethical person, I will not. I legitimately probably authorized the charge in March and I will pay for what I owe. However, this situation has caused me to have to cancel my debit card (because the bank said they definitely have my card information, including full number, expiration and CVC number, on file at their business) and get a new one issued. My family and will not be returning to this...
Read moreAte there a few times before this but the last time I ate there was the worst. Waitress took forever, avoided me and wasn’t very friendly. The miso soup was old and cold. The sushi was a 5/10 and the salads dressing is really weird and grainy. The only thing i liked was the tempura vegetables. All except the broccoli because the batter doesn’t cook when it gets soaked into the head. Then when i got the bill, the tip was added onto the bill (i was eating alone) and I would have 0 problem with that if it was stated ANYWHERE in the restaurant. So i asked the lady if it was posted anywhere and she said no and they didn’t have to post it. Theres 2 problems with that. 1. If its not posted how do you know what percentage their gunna charge and if they change it differently per customer? 2. its actually illegal to make a tip mandatory (and i had her define what the charge was for and she said it went directly to the server and cooks. Not a service charge that goes to the restaurant which is normally for large parties anyways. So a tip). And mind you, I was planning to tip from the beginning but this made me so mad. She took the tip off. I paid for my meal and I’m...
Read moreWe went there with a large party and sat at one of the hibachi grills. We had to ask numerous times for sweetener for our tea before they finally brought out some packets. The cup they brought out my tea in was cracked, really? Not many of us liked the salad. The soup they bought tasted like disk water, not many of us liked it. The chef was nice and he tried to make it enjoyable for us. when he was done cooking a few of us tipped him well. Then came the check. 18% gratuity was automatically added to every check. Do they even know what gratuity means? Let me Google that for you! " Overview A gratuity, in the context of customer service, is a voluntary payment given to service workers (like waiters or hotel staff) in addition to the base price of the service. It's a way of showing appreciation for good service and is not mandatory, unlike a service charge." Did you read that? NOT MANDATORY!! I normally tip 20% for ok service, but making it mandatory? I will never...
