The Human Bean — Restaurant in Saint Joseph

We should have gotten the names of the girls working to give them the full respect they deserve but we were there at 2:50 on today’s date. I was so very impressed with the maturity of these two young ladies and their ability to help my girlfriend out with the menu. They have A LOT to choose from and helped her make a great decision and had great small talk along the way. This may seem silly to get excited about but when was the last time you felt like the person on the other side of the counter truly cared and/or wanted to be there? I got told thank you multiple times and saw one of the girls go out and give a person on the side of the road some water or a drink of some kind. Very impressed and the drinks were great too. If you 2 young ladies ever see this post, I hope you will take note of your character and keep shining your light into the world, the world needs it....

I usually have a great experience but the young woman in the KU sweatshirt that waited on me last Tuesday 8/15 was extremely rude. She charged me $23 for a 32oz caramel granita and a 32oz iced mexi mocha with oat milk and an extra shot. When I questioned the price she tried to tell me the 2 $7 drinks were more because of the special milk, the extra shot and the flavoring. Once she took the time to recheck her work she realized she charged me for a 3rd drink. Without a single apology or or any type of accountability for her screw up she looked at me and said "I will make you another drink for free". I guess she forgot she overcharged me so it would not be free. She also told me she could not give my money back because I paid with cash! Again never an apology, she acted like I did something wrong. She needs a refresher course in customer service....

I was super impressed with my experience at The Human Bean. The line was a little long, but they moved people through quickly and all the workers were friendly. Our drinks were all great - latte, iced Italian soda and a chai tea. And, I was super impressed with the price! After tax, our 3 drinks were only $12.
