We are so disappointed!!! We were so excited to have a new sushi restaurant opening in the neighborhood but unfortunately will not be returning. I will start by saying that the two sushi rolls we had were very good. They were expensive but on par for what signature rolls go for in Minneapolis. However, that was our only positive. The service was absolutely horrible. It started okay, grabbing us drinks and taking our order. But after our server brought us our appetizer she ignored us the rest of the night. We ordered the crab wontons as an app but they came out missing the cream cheese.. the cream cheese is why you eat wontons haha so we waited, not eating them, to ask our server for a new order. She never came back. Eventually a different server brought out our sushi so we told him about the wontons and he went to talk to someone about it. We see both servers checking on other tables but neither stopped by to check on us again. We had to steal napkins off another table that hadn't been cleared yet and had empty waters. At this point, we finished the sushi and just wanted the app taken off our bill as we never heard back or received a new order. We sat there with the empty sushi plate and the cold cream cheese-less wontons for 20+ minutes after we finished eating. Finally the guy (not our server) came back to clear the plate. We're not sure if he ever actually mentioned the problem to the kitchen or not but it shouldn't have been his responsibility anyway, he wasn't our server! He thankfully told our server we wanted the bill (without the wontons on it) and she finally stopped by our table to drop it off without any apology or attempt to fix the situation. Read moreSuper friendly staff, very clean space. Small restaurant so maybe call ahead on a weekend. We went early on a Thursday so we were seated right away. The general manager checked in on us and was very friendly, engaging in conversation. I could tell he was very passionate about the business.
My daughter and I were having a mommy daughter date night and ordered 2 rolls and edamame and a dessert. The edamame was perfectly warm (sometimes at places it’s cold) and was a really good size portion. We also ordered the spicy snow crab roll, for my daughter, and the captain crunch roll for myself. The spicy snow crab roll is cooked and has a bit of a kick but isn’t so spicy that a kid who doesn’t like much spice can’t handle it. She loved it. The Captain crunch roll was fresh and not overly drenched in sweet stuff like many of those roll can be. I could’ve eaten the whole thing if I had the room!!
For dessert we had the caramel tempura ice cream. The tempura honestly tasted more like an ice cream cone/cake batter than tempura. The ice cream portion was pretty small in comparison to the tempura but it was tasty.
When the bill came I was pleasantly surprised we could scan a QR code and pay and tip with Apple Pay. This is super handy when you have an 8 year old who is ready to go the second she’s done eating 😂.

Read moreI honestly don’t think I’ve ever had a better experience at a restaurant. I am a seriously picky eater and have a really hard time trying new things due to texture problems and simply not liking a lot of food yet at this restaurant, I felt very tended to. I got the information I needed to be able to eat. I even tried something I never thought I would again and it was quite amazing. Sushi breaks all my rules and I just can’t handle it yet I had some and it was DELICIOUS. To top it all off, the staff was courteous, attentive, sweet, warm, welcoming, and all around made me feel the best I have at a restaurant in years. Oh ya, I hate Oreos. I really do. I was on a roll though and I tried them. Oh. My. Gosh. An absolute must try!!
Thank you to all of the staff for making that experience so incredible. It shouldn’t feel this dramatic when we are “just going out to eat” but most places do not care much about the customer anymore.
