Ben & Jerry’s — Restaurant in Minneapolis

My daughter and I went to this particular Ben and Jerry’s just after having the most relaxing massages ever. When we arrived , there was a family of four being served. While waiting, I asked the young lady if the bathroom was unlocked to which she replied that it was. I only mention this because she can’t say that she didn’t notice us. When my daughter came out of the bathroom, she walked up and stood next to me as the family before us was walking out. We were standing next in line when the unthinkable happened. The young lady working looked at me, walked past me and proceeded to ask the lady and her son who was clearly behind us if she could help them. They were behind us. Not next to us. So there was no confusion and it wasn’t crowded at all. Even the woman looked shocked as she politely told the worker that my daughter and I were next. The worker just said “oh”. She didn’t apologize for it. She just asked if she could help us. If you have security cameras in your establishment, please review and you will see exactly what happened. Not a good experience for us at all. Especially on Mother’s Day. We were there around 2:35 and left around 2:48. Two browned skinned females. My friend ordered vanilla ice cream this evening and failed to try the flavor prior to ordering as she thought it would be standard vanilla. She got a few spoonfuls in before realizing it tasted off. I tasted it as well, and so did the other person with us. All 3 agreed that this tasted odd. She kindly asked the young blonde girl at the counter if she could replace her vanilla since it tasted odd and she made a weird face at us and said “yeah. if you pay more” and laughed. I’ve worked in customer service for 5 years now and I have never worked anywhere that would refuse to replace an unsatisfied customer’s order. Maybe things have changed, but we were very unsatisfied with this service and my friend wasted money on ice cream that tasted like watered...

I love Ben and Jerry’s ice cream and like having a store near me to visit. This store has never been a warm and fuzzy place architecturally and the service has never been something to write home about. But tonight when we went, it was slowish but pretty friendly. The real problem was the ice cream was barely frozen. One scoop wouldn’t stay straight on top of the other so they dumped the cone upside down into a cup. We were the end of a long line of people and I noticed the scoopers didn’t bother even closing the lids to the freezers and mentioned it. I’m not sure anyone there was old enough to know that’s how you keep ice cream cold OR they liked that soft ice cream was easier to scoop.
