Down to business: this place has some amazing chicken fingers. I don't know why its taken me over 3 years to stop in when I've lived less than a 1/2 a mile away.
I called in to place an order for take-out and the guy I spoke to was pretty nice and wasn't frustrated by my asking questions about the menu even during the dinner time rush. I ordered:
(2) 5-Piece Chicken Finger Dinners (comes with fries) First of all, their chicken fingers are huge and ordering a 5 piece was the wrong decision, lol. You can definitely get away with ordering the 3 piece and being satisfied or splitting one 5-piece among two people. REALLY good value though! The 5-piece is $6.99 with the fries. The chicken was tender and juicy with a nice seasoning in and on top of the batter. Hot tip: Get their hot sauce on the side. It's phenomenal. Reminiscent of Cholula or Texas Pete. Zingy with a good kick of heat. (1) Gyro Fries Holy baby these are good. They are fries layered (key word: layered, not hiding under) with tzatziki sauce, hot cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and jalapenos. They are also HUGE. There was no way I could finish them. $5.99 and well worth it. (1) Hush Puppies Some of the best hush puppies I have had; crisp on the outside and soft and almost doughy (in a good way) on the inside. The flavor was excellent; didn't just taste like thanksgiving stuffing like a lot of people pass off hush puppies as. At $2.99 they are a steal and I highly recommend them. All in all it sent me back about $24 but I got A LOT of food; the two of us couldn't even finish everything.
Within 15 minutes of ordering over the phone our food was ready for pickup; they were fairly busy but the guy at the counter was nice. I've seen some other reviews online about their customer service being poor but I have to disagree! I was pleasantly surprised.
The place is on Rice and Front street which can be a little "rough" of an area but I had no problems and I will absolutely be returning for more chicken and to try their sandwiches out. I am sure my boyfriend wouldn't mind trying out their catfish either! What a great hole...
Read morethe food is really good but the customer service is horrendous. the guy that work as cashier seem like he wants nothing to do with the place and hates his job. calling in to order pickup is painful, the dude is monotone and doesn't want anything to do with you and seems annoyed at the fact you called in, one time he picked up the phone and took 30 seconds to even acknowledge that he answered the phone and was talking to someone. don't work in customer service if you can't be nice and courteous to customers. also the wings have barely any meat on them but they are tasty and they give you a good amount of bland fries so that makes it better i guess. they will also open up your orders for pickup to check them without gloves on... if covid-19 wasn't taken into consideration it would still be considered gross and unsanitary but with a pandemic going on it just seems tone-deaf and inconsiderate of your customers well being. i will continue coming for food because of the location convenience and prices but i highly recommend hiring people who would at least act like they care about their customers and...
Read moreBeing of my descent and the culture raised we was traditionally brought up and raised up on them types of meals basically fish chicken grease fried orders basically if you looking for Elegance or a date I wouldn't advise it otherwise if you craving special orders like cheese fries gyro chicken fish plate I guess that's a convenient spot in that neighborhood area to me my rating was fair I gave it that amount of stars because to me I believe the menu and the order it's kind of expensive if considering whether you eating by yourself a a plate/meal or additional added toppings just might push you over budget to throw a couple extra wings or a side of fries in there might cost you two to three dollars when in reality when buying in bulk and them type of items is basically worth Pennies on the dollar kind of spendy for a...
