This small restaurant in an older Hispanic-flavored Eastside neighborhood is absolutely a standout winner, big on flavors, ambience and value. Our very first visit for dinner on Thursday -- should've been a slow night, but greeted instead by two short lines, one for takeout and the other for tables. Either is fine, we will be back! Decor is somewhat whimsical, clean and tidy. The many large and small photo prints on the walls have a handphone aesthetic, impressing with a sense of directness, being real, up close and personal like selfies. Eastside's menu is a great sampler of regional Thai cuisine from north to south with highlights from metropolitan Thai Chinese. Hard to choose! Massuman curry probably originated in the south and our entree was served in generous portions with fine, fragrant jasmine rice, golden curry with moderate heat and a handful of large peanuts, skillfully prepared and served. Overall we had a very good time and we recommend. On the other hand in that small space we wished the staff would see us waving sooner and noticed a bit of curry spilled perhaps in haste. Clientele look like a bunch of locals and they pretty much all looked happy, bet you would be too

First time here and it was a good experience. If I have the chance to visit again, I would try other items on their menu. (I'm not from the area.) The space is cozy, nicely decorated. Staff during our time there was attentive. It was empty coming on a Sunday right when they opened; the space gradually got fuller when we were done with our meal. We ordered tri-color, pho combo, pork belly drunkard's noodle, meat combo Thai fried rice, catfish curry, beef pad Thai, and a to-go order of crispy pork belly fried rice. Tri-color was the perfect amount of sweetness; a very refreshing balance with the savory dishes. We agreed that the catfish curry was a great dish with it's sweet and savory heat pairing well with the white rice that came with it. Noodle dishes were good as well. Wish there were the traditional extras that usually comes with pad Thai like lime and red pepper flakes, but it did not. Overall, it was over $95, without tip. Cash tip was provided.

This is a hole in the wall type restaurant and definitely one of the East Side’s hidden gems. I ordered the Pad See Yew and it is DELICIOUS. However, I ordered this as take out over the phone during lunch and it took a while for them to answer. Once there, the place was very busy and the cashier didn’t seem very interested in talking as she didn’t even greet me and was very direct, not so much friendly for lack of a better word. But, like I said, it was lunch hour and having worked at a restaurant before I know how chaotic and busy lunch time can get so I don’t blame her for wanting to get to the point as soon as we started talking. All in all, I will DEFINITELY be back. And I cannot wait to try everything they have. Highly recommend you check it out!

This was my favorite place to eat before I moved away 3 years ago. I recently moved back 2 weeks ago and decided to go back to this place for some of my favorite food. The service has gone down a whole lot. Walked in, owner just looked up and stared at us, looked around and then finally got up to grab us a seat. Didn’t greet us, nada. Just told us in a mumble voice saying sit anywhere and then we sat and he walked away. Waitress came, took our order, brought us drinks. Waited for a good 10-15mins before we got our food which was fine. Water was out, no refill. There was a waiter and two other waitresses that walked by us a number of time and did not give us water refill until we finally asked. There was one dish that we never received which I think was given to another customer (because I saw the two waitress looking at the order slip and then chatting, staring/pointing at us and then staring and pointing at the other customer). They didn’t come say anything to us at all about our missing dish until we almost got done eating and had asked why it hasn’t come out. The waitress gave no explanation except “umm, oh yeah, ok”. My husband and I just told them to cancel that dish since we no longer want it cause we were almost done eating and didn’t want to sit around waiting for it. When I went to pay for our tab, the owner was standing at the register doing something and did not bother to look up to say anything to us. He kept us standing there waiting for a good 5mins or so before he took our tab to ring us up (even when he took the tab to ring us up, he still didn’t say anything. Only thing he said was the total cost). They added a card charge of 2.xx to the tab which I paid with cash and didn’t realize the charge until I had left. This should’ve been taken off. After I paid for our meal, he didn’t say anything such as “thank you come again or have a good day.”Nothing. He handed me my change and continue to what he was doing before. Worse customer service ever and didn’t even get the dish that I wanted to eat. The dishes that we did eat, I feel like the flavor wasn’t on point like how I’ve had it in the past. Won’t be going back again. Almost forgot to mention, they didn’t clean the bamboo container that was used for sticky rice cause when we were eating our rice, my husband flipped the bamboo cover over and there was a chunk of super dried sticky rice under the cover from who knows...

Food ordered: spring rolls, cheese puffs, combination pho, chicken pad thai.

Terrible experience. Drove 30 minutes to come here because we wanted to try a new Thai restaurant out of our area (which there's many) and the reviews were great. Tried the food and to be honest I'm not really sure what the hype is all about??? Walked in, the restaurant smelled like wet dirty towels. Ordered our food, spring rolls tasted plain, it was basically stuffed with a load of noodles, 2 small pieces of meat, and lettuce. The sauce that came with it didn't help either. The cheese puffs tasted like they were cooked long before we got there and was just sitting on the counter for someone to order. Didn't try my husband pho but he said it was decent, but nothing special. The pad thai (my favorite dish) was probably one of the worst pad thai's I've ever had in my life. It was so dry I literally had to keep drinking water (not exaggerating), barely any meat, tasted like fried noodles, no flavor at all. I started to think about all the great Google reviews of this place and immediately regretted my decision coming here. To top off this experience, the waitress with the eyebrows seemed like she hated her job to death. When she saw us, no hi, smiles, or anything. She basically just looked at u, grabbed a few menus, and walked to a table with us following behind her like puppies. Came back minutes later and asked if we were ready... I think that was the only time she actually talked to us (no joke).

I expected way more than this and unfortunately I will not be coming here again. If you think this restaurant is great, go venture elsewhere because the food really is...
