Mucci's Italian, is a veritable cornucopia of culinary delight! Picture this: nestled in the cozy embrace of a charming neighborhood, this family-owned gem sparkles like a diamond amidst the humdrum of everyday life. Allow me to regale you with a tale so riotously funny that it could only have happened at Mucci's!
It was a balmy summer evening when my friends and I sauntered into Mucci's, a twinkle in our eyes as we anticipated the gastronomic adventure awaiting us. The tantalizing aroma of garlic and simmering tomato sauce greeted us like an old friend, while the convivial ambiance of laughter and clinking glasses enveloped us like a warm hug. Little did we know that this evening would be etched in our memories forever, punctuated by a lasagna that was both the protagonist and antagonist of our tale.
As our group perused the mouth-watering menu, my friend Jeremy, notorious for his insatiable appetite and selective hearing, set his sights on the lasagna. Legend had it that Mucci's lasagna was crafted with such finesse that it could make even the most hardened of Italian nonnas weep with joy. And so, it was no surprise when Jeremy hoarded this heavenly concoction all to himself.
As our entrees arrived, the pièce de résistance of our dining experience, Jeremy's lasagna, was a sight to behold: layers of tender pasta enveloped in a luscious Bolognese sauce, bound together by a velvety béchamel, and crowned with a golden crust of melted cheese. The aroma wafting from this edible masterpiece was enough to make angels sing.
My tale takes a humorous turn when, in a moment of unbridled enthusiasm, Jeremy leaned in to take his first bite, accidentally catapulting a dollop of lasagna onto a nearby diner's head. The dining room fell silent, as all eyes followed the arc of that glorious morsel. Much to our relief, the recipient of this unexpected garnish erupted into laughter, diffusing the tension and providing us with a story we'd recount for years to come.
Alas, despite my attempts to trade a bite of my own delectable dish for a taste of Jeremy's legendary lasagna, he remained steadfast in his refusal to share. And so, dear readers, I have naught but a photograph of his empty plate as evidence of the lasagna's ephemeral existence. It is my fervent hope that one day, I too shall partake in the ecstasy that is Mucci's lasagna.
In conclusion, Mucci's Italian in St. Paul, Minnesota, is an enchanted haven of exquisite cuisine, warm camaraderie, and, on occasion, airborne lasagna. A visit to this delightful establishment is sure to leave you with a full stomach, a contented heart, and perhaps even a humorous...
Read moreLet me start with saying the food is FANTASTIC. Truly, I can’t say enough about how great the food was. I tried the special appetizer which was sautéed shishito peppers and the special entree, which was arancini over ragout. It was absolutely delicious and a perfect portion and price. Friend had the bucatini which was also great.
Less fantastic was the experience. We came with a reservation and were a bit disappointed that there wasn’t a table for us. We were seated at the counter, which was alright but would have been disappointing if we had been on a first date or were there to celebrate. There’s something about watching food being made that is magical when it’s a full sensory experience. It wasn’t, though. It was just loud, and a bit chaotic. If I’m looking into a kitchen while I’m eating, I want to be able to hear the knives, the sizzles, the splatters, and the plating. That wasn’t the case at all. Also notable, the server had a sorta weird energy and approach. My friend who I was with noticed it, too, and said they felt uncomfortable the whole time. It felt like we weren’t supposed to be there. Maybe we weren’t dressed as nicely as the environment they want to curate? I noticed the two seated next to us at the counter looked a lot like us, so thats what we left feeling; a...
Read moreLast night we made a mistake and paid for our order once via credit card and then I took cash in to pay for the order when I arrived for pickup, I left the cash on the cash register and left, this am I was thinking about it and said dang we paid twice! I called right away and the young lady said she would have her manager mother call us at 2 when she arrived, she was very sweet and said no problem. Waited for the call at 2, so I told my BF to call and see if he could come pick the cash up he called and spoke to christy and she wasn’t kind to him and said she had to deny his claim, so then I called and for someone who works for such high rated restaurant I would figure would be much more friendly and have high customer service standards, after being very combative with me she said we could pick up our money at 5 when they open, it was out first time trying them out and as delicious as it was the treatment from Christy was a big turn off, I hope she grows with the treatment of customers, mistakes happen, she was so angry I understand she lost that big tip but it was a miscommunication. Maybe if someone approached me when I entered to pick the food up this wouldn’t have happened as I didn’t know they bill was already paid. She wouldn’t even give me her name when I asked...
