A friend took me to the taproom over the weekend and I have to say, for my first Minnesota taproom experience I was very pleased. The beer was great, the staff was great and I had no complaints about the pricing. I loved the logo so much I bought a t-shirt for my buddy, a hoodie for myself and a hat for my brother.
My only gripe (if you want to call it that) was with the lack of seating. Not sure if this place is always this busy on a Saturday but it was hoppin'! While waiting for somewhere to sit, we struck up a conversation with a couple from the neighborhood who sounded like they might be regulars and they had some great recommendations. I tried the West Side Popper and (I think) the Implosion ale. Both were very good. Eventually a couple seats opened up in the "living room" area and we ended up there for a couple hours, enjoying the beer and talking with the variety of folks who came and went.
We heard there is a larger taproom being built but we didn't find out when that's supposed to open. It's a bit of a hike from the U of M campus where I recently moved but I'll be finding my way...
Read moreThanks Wabasha for not letting kids inside your establishment! Wow, that's refreshing! Having a small child in an adult venue with alcohol being the main attraction doesn't seem to indicate good parenting to me. Parents shouldn't complain about being "forced" to sit outside with their kids. That makes is sound like drinking beer isn't an elective, optional activity. Grab a growler to go or get a babysitter.
And the beer is great here! Awesome, creative beers that seem to get better as the years go by. ABV of some of the IPAs are a little high so I try to sip them a little slower than I normally would, but they are all just so tasty!
EDIT: These days they have lower ABV beers on tap more frequently, as well as a few stinger ones as well. Now it's my favorite neighborhood spot! I can sit for longer and enjoy another halfie with no consequences. Thanks Wabasha for...
Read moreRude staff. Their 6 foot distance procedures make no sense.
I moved a patio table about 1 foot to the side, further from the next table, then the host outside came over and said we cannot be moving tables.
Inside they want people to line up a very specific way to order your beer to keep 6 feet, but to walk outside to the patio with your beer you have to walk out the same way you came in causing you to walk directly past others in line. I stood off to the side to keep further distance and the lady bartender yelled at me to get in the line, "Governor's orders".
We perceived the way we were treated was like children in a daycare. Not a way to handle paying customers. I have come to this brewery 5 to 6 times in the past, but they have lost my business now.
I recommend visiting one of the many other breweries in the cities. Somewhere where your...
