I went in prepared for a scene out of [insert bad sitcom here], but instead was greeted by the security officer on the desk, given instructions on where to wait, and told there was one person in front of me. Once that person was done, the concierge came to take my info, hustled back to the back, and came back with my paperwork. Total time about 10 minutes! I went to get a certified copy of my birth certificate at ~10am on a Wednesday. It wasn't busy, just one other person. I printed the application off of the website and filled it out beforehand. I was in and out of the records office in genuinely less than five minutes (probably less than four) and that's with someone else in front of me too! They accept credit/debit cards so that was convenient. The woman behind the desk was super polite.
