First thing to understand is this is two separate businesses in the same building. Super confused at first as to why I had to place my food order at a kiosk and then place another order for drinks at the bar.
Considering I place my own order and clean up my own stuff I did not leave a good tip for the food. Offloading aspects of the job onto customers and then asking for a tip is just tacky. I'm not sure where this trend started but it's invading everywhere.
I can see this being a point of contention because there is a guy at the counter who will take your order, sometimes, and he will occasionally go around and grab empty baskets and such. That doesn't really warrant a tip imo. That's more a fast food model.
Make the servers more active and don't make people use the kiosk to receive better tips.
The bar has decent selection of brews and you can get take home six packs of mix and match local brews. The bartenders are very sweet and helpful, and everything appeared clean and orderly.
The food was pretty good, though they had somehow sold out of appetizers by 4pm. Definitely not the best fried chicken as their website claims but it was still pretty good.
They have board games available for customers to play which is a very nice little addition that I wish more places would do.
Music was pretty loud since there are no sound buffers and the building echos like crazy. So be prepared to talk at full volume to the person sitting next to you.
Atmosphere was decent but definitely targeted at the younger crowds.
Spent about $50 for two people to eat wings, chicken sandwich, fries, onion rings and had 1 beer and 1 soda. So...
I find it overpriced for what it is, but still a fun place to go every once in a while especially if you like...
Read morePerfect, perfect, perfect. No better description than that. Everything from the atmosphere to the bartenders, and even the merchandise, this place checks all the boxes. And of course, the beer selection. The employees and owners go above and beyond making sure that you get exactly what you are looking for. I try at least 3-4 beers before actually selecting what I’m going to have and actually pay for, and they don’t even bat an eye. They are more than happy to give you the right amount of samples until you find what you like. They are knowledgeable and want you to enjoy what you choose. Not to mention, I live a good 45 minutes away from this establishment and frequent it as often as I can. So with living so far away, I have to take my turn of being the DD, but never fear, they even have NA options! And I’m not talking about a Busch NA or O’Douls, they have everything from a lager NA to and IPA NA. My brother in law had one on accident and couldn’t even tell the difference. Lastly, they are so friendly and come around to actually get to know their customers whether they are a frequent visitor or someone just passing through. You can tell that they love what they do and they care about their customers. I can only hope for the day when a closer location moves my way. Oh, and not to mention, you can bring and order your own food! Looking for a day or night out, Chillax has got...
Read moreEdited for clarity (see Owner's Response, below): Interesting place. I went there for dinner, and I didn't realize that the kitchen operated independently from the bar/venue. Inside, there's a Vails Brothers kitchen where food can be ordered, but drinks come from the Chillax Tap & Co. bar that is separate from the kitchen. The staff were really nice. (I'm going to leave my food review here because, despite being a separate business from Chillax, it may be useful to Chillax guests.) My dish wasn't amazing. Provel on a chicken sandwich was actually really good, but the chicken itself wasn't great. And they got my order wrong. I ordered tomato, i got lettuce. Catfish was pretty good though, my wife and my dad were very satisfied. They also have a good selection of sauces. There wasn't much liquor available (the basics: tequila, vodka, bourbon, but no scotch). Fairly good selection of local beers on tap, although I don't drink beer any more (medication thing; yes, i miss it). Music was a little loud, urban pop music. There are 2 garage doors that open, and seating is open air, sit where you like. There's also a back patio, but I didn't go back there. This might be a better place for lunch than dinner, although the beer selection might make it a nice place to go to drink with friends. I DO wish there was more of a liquor...
