Salvatore's Italian Grill — Restaurant in Saint Peters

Never again! The service we had today at lunch was absolutely pathetic!!! I rarely ever give bad reviews but this deserves it. My elderly mother, myself and my daughter got treated like we were literally invisible. The bartender gave us our drinks and literally disappeared after that. He sat down at a customers table and laid back and shot the breeze while leaving us sit there. A person then came in and sat at the bar he then began shooting the breeze with him. All the while ignoring us. I finally decided to get up and leave as my mother is elderly and i am not in good health myself, he then came over and asked to take our order. The food was good, although my mother got sick on the way home. We waited and waited and waited all the while he was on the phone and sweeping the floor. My card was on the table and we were literally staring at him waiting for the bill. We finally got the bill and same scenerio, until finally my mother walked up to the bar and waited while he talked on the phone and swept the floor. I walked out because i was so pissed at how we were treated! Maybe if we ordered drinks he would have paid attention. He couldn't even wait on the one table in the restaurant/bar. I am 52 years old and I NEVER in my life have had the worst service EVER. He is lucky my daughter gave him a $5 tip bc he deserved ZERO!! Never will I patronize this business...

Watch your bill! I don't normally do this but I believe you should be aware. First on our bill there is a processing fee for using our card. Second we were charged an extra $1.00 for each tall glass we ordered but not more alcohol and mine was for extra water. When I asked the waitress why the extra charges she said it was because of the new machines. When I called the owner the next day she stated pretty much the same thing it was the new machines and that the processing fee more or less should be our responsibility for using our cards and not theirs for buying their food and drinks. We were really please with the food, but the bread was not cooked all the way and we mentioned it to the waitress and she brought us new bread, sad to say it was the same way. I did suggest to the owner today that the workers should have a area to smoke if they are going to and that they get a few tables on the bar side for wheel chairs. Tall top tables really don't work if your in a wheel chair and want to listen to the band. I noticed this this weekend. We won't be going back, there are to many places you can go and not be charged all these extra fees....

I've heard a lot about Salvatore's and I made finally made my way there tonight-and I'm glad I did. The place was bigger than I was expecting, but no so big that it wasn't still inviting and cozy. My bartender Michelle was terrific. She answered every one of my many questions right off the bat. She knew the menu well and provided fast and friendly service. Drinks were very competitively priced and made right. I saw a few people from St. Charles and North county that I knew already and that was just the icing on the cake of a terrific experience. I wish I hadn't waited so long to stop by-there's a lot of times I spent more for food and drinks that were subpar, in facilities that werent as nice. I look forwards to frequenting this place and I highly recommend you check it out. But don't just take my word for it-read all the other great reviews and decide for yourself.
