Im going to be brutally honest because i believe thats what this place needs. I chose to eat here because of the ratings from the locals. We stopped by Vette's around 5pm on a Sunday. Place was not busy but had a party of 20 in the back. We ordered an appetizer of potatoe wedges with bacon and cheese. When they arrived at the table, the potatoe part of the wedges was not edible. Burnt to a crisp and then covered in cheese. I ordered the catfish dinner that comes with Cole slaw, hush puppies and fries. The person I was with ordered the turkey club with fries. After waiting about 30 minutes for our food, we realized there was only 1 waitress working the whole place. Someone from the kitchen brought our food out and walked away. I looked at my plate with disappointment as I noticed my fries were sitting in a pool of liquid. Upon further investigation I realized it was water dripping from the catfish nuggets as they were probably frozen at some point. I used my 1 napkin to soak up the fishy liquid that my fries were sitting in. Digging into the fish was not great either. Some parts were not done as other parts of the fish were overdone. My cup of tartar sauce had a film on the top of it, My fries were now soggy and smelled like fish. If I was going to choke this down, I needed ketchup and napkins. After waiting about 10 minutes we didn't see a waitress, so I got up and went to the bar, stood there about 5 minutes, still no waitress. So I sat back down, looking at other tables for ketchup. Finally, we see our clearly overworked waitress and she gave me a small cup of ketchup but by then my fish and soggy fries were cold. I should also mention that my partner, who eats almost anything, said the Cole slaw was gross. Dear Vett's, I hope you pay your waitresses a decent wage If you are going to understaff the place. Maybe 1 more person in the kitchen or on the floor would improve the overall quality of the entire place. A good cleaning wouldn't hurt either as the floors and tables are sticky enough to catch a mouse. This would be a pretty sweet place under different...
Read moreStopped in on Super Bowl Sunday. The place was dead. No big deal I wasn't there for that, just hungry. I had the Taco salad and my date had nachos. Food came out fast, server was nice. I'm pretty sure the Taco salad was left over from the week before. The meat was colder than the rest of the salad and it was just dry and nasty. Not sure how you screw up a salad. I asked for more sour cream thinking that might help but it was just wishful thinking. I gave up on it after a few bites. Tried my dates nachos despite her warning not to. They weren't as bad but still not good. I can't imagine how bad the food would be if they were busy, but I don't plan on finding out. Very disappointed. Do yourself a favor and go next door to Redbirds! That's what we did and it was awesome!! Too bad we had to pay for dinner twice but live and learn. Note to owner Please don't send the same patronizing response you send to every bad review, it doesn't make up for the money I wasted this time. How about putting the money back on my card!! That would be much...
Read moreOur nightmare begins at 4 pm Thursday one night, Our party of 3 ordered drinks and bar food dinner. We ended up with an order of soggy shrimp, uncooked fries, and a unmentionable burger. We also requested another round, two waters, and some napkins. We even asked for water twice. Well, we spilled ranch on the table and used multiple dinner napkins to mop up the mess.
What happened next is worse than a horror film. We had made an order of desert to go. Upon receipt we asked for forks and napkins. Our bar hag said the manager’s policy regarding no napkins. When asked to speak the manager, they were not in the place. Our mouths dropped and we left the premises. The next day we returned hoping to speak with manager. We ordered two drinks and asked for the manager again. We were shunned by the same bar hag. In a cowardly fashion the manager never did come out from kitchen. I wouldn’t allow my dog or cat to support this establishment. I would rather they dined on a...
