Big C's Chopped BBQ — Restaurant in Saint Petersburg

They dont deserve a star. I walk in. Am friendly. I tell the older lady at the window that i heard they are the best in tampa and am excited to be here. She half smiled like she herself wasnt quite convinced of them being the best. I asked how much for a pound of pulled pork. She pressed her brow together and told me they only sell sandwiches and dinners. All places comply with no issue. I asked how much a sandwich is. She said 9 dollars. I smiled and asked for 2 sandwiches without bread. She got an attitude with me and proceeded to suggest there must be something wrong with me that i dont want bread nor sides. I dont see the need in explaining i have to be gluten free. She pulls dude aside in the back to explain that we have an unusual situation lololol. He nodded like he could pull it off. She then told me that thats a lot of money for 2 medium size piles of bbq. I already knew this...i just want my needs met without the ego karate. The sauce they put on top was light in amount, had tons of hard inedible clear stuff in it, and the taste was on the lower side of ok....had a vidalia onion flavor. Never going back there. I want real deal deep red sauce bbq. Ppl who said this place was great must be sheltered and without taste buds. Overpriced, even in comparison to many other nearby places, including bbq chains. Flavorless overall. Unimpressive portions. Bad...

Food I do have to say is delicious…. Atmosphere not bad but needs more parking, only three parking spaces. Service wasn’t terrible, they were very polite the only thing is that they forgot to give me one of the main things that made my order, which I paid for. I spent over $55 all together.They were not busy I was the only one there so it wasn’t like they were slammed with customers, if so then I would understand but that wasn’t the case. I do take some responsibility because I should have checked my bag but I didn’t notice until I got back home which is about 1hour away. I guess that’s why I was so angry because a drove that far because I heard good things about them. So all in all would I give them another try? Yes I will it’s not that serious but they do need to check the orders a little better than they do and if they don’t have an item then just say so, don’t try to cover it up like it seemed they did when I opened...

A beef cut sandwich cost $9: no toppings, its not a sub length but regular buns, no additional sides. Thats a rip off and the beef is tough to chew and swallow, no soda to wash it down. Soda is a separate charge. I've been there time and time trying each item before jumping on here, believe me, their cooking is the best. Not the beef sandwich. A $12 meal includes 2 ribs, 2 sides or 1, a soda. Unfortunately, its like they choose who gets a soda judging by the fact that there has been 4-5 times walking out without a drink, customers should not read their minds playing guessing games because the same item last week came with a soda, two weeks later the same item and no say so by employee if i can get a drink with meal or pay separate charge.
