Wow. I was not expecting what a delightful dining experience my mom and I had at this restaurant today. We were looking to have brunch and I had spotted this location on a previous visit to St. Pete as we are out-of-towners (NE FL). This Mother's Day weekend my mom got to pick, and she chose The Frog Pond for mealtime. The moment we walked in I knew we'd made a charming choice. The frog theme is fun but not overdone. The place was clean and attractive. We dined on the patio and were waited on by a server (I'm sorry I don't recall her name) who was personable and attentive. My mom had a modified Western omelette and I had a modified Jacque Cousteau omelette. Each entrée came with toast but I declined mine as I'm simply not a toast-eater. Good God, these omelettes were STUFFED with deliciously prepared ingredients. The serving size is abundant and way more than enough for one person. Heavy omelettes filled to the max with all you could want. The eggs and homefries were well-prepared, too. Even though the attached photos are of two different omelettes, you can see the consistency with which the eggs were prepared. I'm so happy we went - it was a perfect brunch. A man who I believe was the manager (possibly the owner, but I'm unsure) greeted us at the end of our meal and asked if everything was to our liking - and it was. I told him I'd leave a Google review sharing what a good time we had, and here we are! I'll be back in the area at a future date this summer and have already prompted my boyfriend to join me at The Frog Pond. Hoping to...

We were greeted by the host ? I put a question mark because he was much more than that. He was extremely friendly, personable and helpful. He sat us and made sure we were comfortable the entire time. He also ran after us to make sure we got our to go drink that we left on the table by accident.
When we were sat we were quickly asked for our drink order and quickly served our drinks. I didn't catch the guys name, but he was extremely nice and he made sure our coffee was never empty and we always were comfortable.
When our server arrived - Jaclyn I believe ?, she made sure we were informed of the menu and answered all of our questions. She was very engaged as she didn't write anything down - I was kind of nervous, but when our food cane it was exactly what we ordered and everything looked perfect.
I ordered the eggs in a pan, the veggies were abundant and fresh, and the eggs were cooked perfectly.
My husband ordered the infamous cinnamon roll French toast and boy did it live up to expectations !
Lastly, my sister ordered the lox plate. This plate was huge and full of delicious toppings.
The server was very attentive and made sure we always had what we needed and that we were satisfied.
Also, the manager or owner (not sure) stopped by twice to make sure things were going accordingly and that we were satisfied.
Between the amazing food and the attentive staff, I give this place 5 stars. This place will be a must the next time we stop...
Read moreIf you like restaurants that aren’t busy, seat you immediately, seat others around you, then serve them first, you will love this place. We were greeted by some slick talking tall drink of water when we got there and he seated us almost immediately. He took our drink order and said “one of our waitresses will be right with you.” He proceeded to the front door, we figured out what we wanted to eat and waited. Meanwhile he goes back to the front door, seats more customers and has a waitress right behind him ready to serve them while we continued to sit in the corner. Now, I understand that help is hard to find and lots of restaurants are busy, but this was absolutely not the case. This place was DEAD. Maybe 3 tables were seated with people and there were people standing being the server stand leaning against the counter when we walked by. I can assume the gentleman that greeted us at the door was either the owner or a manager and his appropriate response should have been “maybe you should serve them first since they’ve been here longer,” as he stated when he seated us “I don’t know which one of our waitresses will be with you.” Clearly not knowing his business and even as a host should know how to seat customers in a was as to not alienate them. ESPECIALLY when there are only 3 tables open. I’ll never go back and will make sure to let others know. I should have been clued in when walked into a breakfast joint in downtown St Pete was empty at 8:00 am. 👎🏻...
