China One — Restaurant in Saint Petersburg

I have been going to China One for almost 15 years. I have never bad been unsatisfied. Everything is always fresh and delicious. Customer service is great.

As a matter of fact I once confused their number and placed a take out at China 1 on 34th. When my husband went to CHINA ONE to pick up the food, they sent him away saying they had no order from us. Having been such a long time customer I decided to go down there myself and speak to whoever was working

After the woman listen to me basically unload on her about how I called in my order, sent my husband to pick it up, and then have him sent out without food, to prove a point, I called the original number that I place my order with. To my horror when I question the man on the phone he confirmed that they were located on 34th St and not 9th St. When I realized my mistake I immediately apologized profusely( no amount would have been enough; I felt to terrible). She smiled and apologized for the confusion and insisted she could make my order right away anyway. And they were 5 minutes to closing time!!!! This lady saved my night and dinner, treated me kindly after I embarrassed myself and my husband, and the proceeded to serve me the best meal I have ever gotten from them. 5 stars!!!!! Two...

I initially had an issue with this place but the new owner rectified it. I put my original review and owner response in the photos, but because they contacted me and offered to fix it, I have given them a new rating. This time around the food was cooked properly and in a timely manner.

I understand that they are under New ownership so I am changing my rating from 0 to 3, as many owners never bother to rectify the situation. This shows initiative and caring from the owner. Should the service continue to be as expected I will raise my rating again. I will give them some time to reestablish themselves in the community under new ownership and will order again in the future.

I do want to add that on the original night I went it was unusually busy. I have gone to China One several times in the past and never saw so many people trying to order at the same time. The line was literally out the door with people even outside. This was probably unexpected for them as well so I understand that they were probably overwhelmed. Call it chaos or could it be maybe the food is just that good.

I took two bites and decided I didn't want cancer, so I threw the Moo Goo Gai Pan in the garbage. The food literally smelled like burnt plastic and tasted... just... odd. I never would have expected that after just two bites I'd experience the worst gas I've ever had in my 36 years on this planet. You could have hooked up a hose to me and I'd be rich overnight from natural gas exports. Not even trying to be funny here. It's what this 'food' did to me. I will not be ordering this toxic food from here again. I don't think I heard one sizzling wok when I went to pick up my order. The stoves didn't look like they were being used. Are they actually cooking food in the can atop sterno stoves? Somebody needs to have this place inspected. What happened to the previous operators?...
