Gateway Market Center — Local services in Saint Petersburg

I really don't like this Publix. If I am in there close to closing time they follow me around and yell at me to get out. I'm in a wheelchair I'm disabled and sometimes it takes me a little longer to do things than other people and I think it's very very rude of them to be so rude to me. They are not just rude they are hateful. Don't they understand that if they follow me around it makes me nervous and makes me slower. I am nothing but polite to them and they threatened me with everything they can think of from the police to not being allowed back in the store and just the nastiest people I've ever met in my life and it's all because I'm there closing time and I guess they have somewhere to go somewhere to be and I'm holding them up. And it's not even past closing time yet! Of course it is by the time I'm done because they're screaming and yelling at me. I have a disease where I'm supposed to avoid stress at all costs it could actually kill me and they scared the life out of me! LOL and it's not just one time it's every single time I come in there near closing time. The last time was a time I went in at 7 p.m. and was finishing up my shopping a quarter till 10 they're closing time. It's not like I'm going in there at quarter till 10 and trying to start my shopping. They want everyone out of there before 10 oh, I don't know and I've never seen them pick on someone else like they pick on me but I can't handle it. I will not shop there again. This is mainly the management the poor Bag Boys and bag girls stand there so embarrassed about the whole thing I feel sorry for them. I know they weren't raised to talk to people like that or trained to treat...

I've lived in the Gateway area my whole life. Although back when I was growing up & for perspective I'm (55!) The mall was enclosed then (mostly) & it had a game room. Which was were you found us most of the time! It was good for us & better on our parent's! Why'd they take that away is beyond me, if the stores weren't doing good good than replace the 1's that weren't, but I can't imagine that game room wasn't doing well! Their basically sitting on a gold mine here & doing nothing with it! It's the only shopping center in this area, find out what the people want & put that in there along with things that cater to the kids/ teens , game room, food court . I mean really after all this time of Burger King being closed, their finally putting something thing there Drum roll plz... A Chase bank!!! Like we need another bank on the corner! Also 1 more thing, if your going to put a Publix in there then you need to do a major upgrade, even the 1's I have near me (2 on 38th ave & 4th St & 1 on Roosevelt), still none of these compare to the Publix I had when I lived in Beckett Lake Estates for a few yrs. It was on Belcher & Sunset Point. It had amazing C. S. Their deli was amazing & you didn't have to wait forever for someone to notice you. & They were almost always on top of they needed! The store was set up very well & usually pretty well stocked too, I love the way the store was set up they can definitely take some pointers from them in that dept & all the others as well actually they just need to give them the map!
