I guess I should have read all the bad reviews before I sat down for a quick meal here today with my son. He loves tacos and thought we should give this place a try. Boy was I wrong. He wanted to try the kids nachos and I got 3 tacos that came with beans and rice. When the male server came to check on us after the food arrived, I told him my son didn't like the nachos. I said he is currently eating my food. So the waiter says ok, I will let him finish and walks away. No offer to get him something else to eat. The only flavorful thing was the refried beans and rice, which should tell you enough. I got up to find the server, who was standing in the corner on his phone, to ask for a side of beans and rice bc my son wanted more. He said the "chef" cannot do just a side of rice and beans, and that he would need to charge for one big plate. I thought that was odd but said okay and walked back to my table. Upon receiving the bill for a kid's meal, 2 drinks and 3 tacos with rice/beans was over $45. The extra rice and beans were $12 total, which is crazy. But we actually ate that so ok. When the server came back to run my credit card, I asked about the overpriced rice and beans....and then asked about taking off the Nachos my son didn't eat or if they would be free bc earlier I saw on the menu, it says "kids eat free Monday thru Friday with adult entree" The server said they no longer do that and proceeded to grab a kids menu to show where it says $4.99. I said Fine but on the main menu, it says the info about Kids eating free. I told him they need to change it bc it's false advertising. He replied that this change just happened today (very convenient) but they had not updated the other menus yet. He apologized, mentioned that they only do the "kids eat free" on Mondays but did not comp anything nor tried to make the situation right. Nowhere on the menus is any of this info made clear. It felt like a bait and switch to me. I was a first time customer and this will be my last visit for subpar customer service and overpriced Mexican food. I have never heard of a restaurant chain with so many rules and nickel and diming customers. Please do better....
Read moreDON’T BE SWAYED BY THEIR “KID’s EAT FREE” AD, THE FOOD ISN’T WORTH RISKING YOUR CHILD’S SAFTY ON THEIR FAULTY AND UNSAFE HIGHCHAIRS!!! I was dining at the Tyrone Grand Hacienda this past weekend when my grandson, who was sitting quietly coloring on the kid’s menu, fell through the bottom of the highchair into the cage of the legs of the chair. Thankfully he was ok, just some scratches, and a slight bump on the head. The waiter apologized. We asked for the manager to come over for awareness of an incident that happened in their restaurant. He awkwardly approached and apologized, but never came back to the table to do a wellness check on my grandson. He never took a statement or asked for our contact info to file a report or follow-up, After trying to make the best of an uncomfortable situation, we finished our meal and got the bill (they had to remove one meal because they sent out the wrong item). When asked why they hadn’t offered to discount the bill for my grandson falling through the high hair, another manager approached and insulted us by stating that “upon investigation of the high chair, he surmised that the child must have been bouncing in it which caused it to collapse”. Talk about insult to (literal) injury! When we argued that the manager was out of line with his comment he became argumentative with our party to the point where he crumpled up the bill and threw our credit card down on the table. He then followed us outside of the restaurant and proceeded to yell across the parking lot to us (in front of patrons dining outside) that he would have us banned forever from his restaurant. Grand Hacienda has a legal obligation to provide a safe environment for his patrons. They failed. They further failed by not documenting the incident. They failed again by not checking on our wellbeing. The lack of leadership displayed from both of the mangers and the team (the hostess that was less than 10ft away never left her post to assist when my grandson fell) was embarrassing to say the least! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR FROM A DINING ESTABLISHMENT AND OSHA SHOULD BE AWARE OF THE...
Read moreNot sure where to start…but I can say I’ve never had such terrible service anywhere in my life. Our server was already stressed before we even ordered. We had a party of 9. He was telling us it would take some time for everything to get to our table, told us our checks would take some time too before we ordered…and we all said that was totally fine. He forgot to take 3 of my friend’s orders and forgot to bring hot sauce over to our table (which wasn’t a huge deal…we’re human, people forget) and I asked again because our food got to our table. He said “I’m getting it” in a rude tone and my friend heard it too. Then another server came to our table (this girl was already visibly upset when we were waiting for our table, not sure what made her mad) and asked in an even ruder tone “do you guys need something??” My friend and I looked at her in shock and we were all pretty uncomfortable. I did not answer. We could all feel the tension and we didn’t do anything wrong other than order and ask for things that were forgotten…I then asked our server if we did something that made him upset. I said that female server was clearly not happy so I’m not sure if you told her something. She wasn’t even our server…he said “idk she might be crazy.” Servers at this restaurant are extremely rude and unprofessional. The icing on the cake was when my friend and I got our checks. We both ordered bottom shelf tequila in our skinny margaritas. I knew they were gonna pull something with our bills. They charged my friend and I $18 for a skinny margarita which is absolutely ridiculous lol never paid that much for a skinny marg w/bottom shelf tequila in my life. Bottomless margaritas were also $18.95 or something so tell me how that makes sense. I was so over the service and vibe of the servers that I didn’t even try to dispute that charge. I wanted to just get out of there! I also work part time in the industry and I get it…9 people eating at one table and splitting checks can be stressful but hey you’re literally signing...
