If bagels were a religion, Seymour’s would be the holy land, and I’d be showing up every Sunday to worship the Jalapeño Cream Cheese Messiah.
Listen, this isn't just a bagel shop. It's a toasty, carby portal to happiness located right in the heart of downtown St. Pete. I wandered in for a quick breakfast and left spiritually fulfilled and possibly gluten-bonded to my new soulmate: The East Breakfast on a jalapeño cheddar bagel. Bacon, egg, cheese, AND a spicy kick to wake me up better than my third cup of coffee? Say. Less.
Yes, they offer sausage… but plot twist: it’s impossible sausage. Which I’m 94% sure is made from wizardry and plant-based unicorns because it’s so good I didn’t even miss the pig. It’s the kind of meat that makes you question your carnivorous ways while still making you feel like a breakfast champion.
Now let’s talk vibe. Seymour’s is like your quirky, artsy best friend who studied abroad, listens to vinyl, and somehow turns cream cheese into a lifestyle. Where else are you gonna get a bagel called The Rae, a Caesar salad IN a bagel sandwich, and not immediately feel like you're part of a gourmet revolution?
And don’t sleep on The Maisie Melt—it’s got enough melty cheese and flavor to make you cancel all future lunch plans.
Also, they have fig jam. On a bagel. I didn’t even know that was legal.
So if you're bagel-curious, cream cheese-inclined, or just hungry and breathing in St. Pete, do yourself a favor and go to Seymour’s. But fair warning—after this, your toaster at home will feel like a joke and you’ll start referring to regular bagels as “civilian carbs.”
See you in line. I’ll be the one whispering sweet nothings to my...
Read moreI thought I would have a similar experience to Pete’s bagels which I love but it was anything but that. First of all they charge $2 extra for cream cheese on a bagel …. Isn’t that a given?? So a plain bagel which is what I ordered was already $9 and cream cheese was another $2 which is absurd. Second of all they charged my sister double on accident and her total ended up being over $30 for just a bagel and coffee. She ended up realizing after she sat down and when she went to go ask them they just say “yea I know we already refunded you” . Like no mention of it at all! Or apology! Well even after all that happened we decided to try it again a month or so later , well we ordered a bacon egg and cheese bagel and there’s not one piece of bacon in it. Do not recommend this place! On top of all of this they ask for...
Read moreUpdated review: it turned out I visited on a day when they were having issues with the oven. The manager followed up and was super great about having me back in to try it again. Second experience was awesome - bagel was a good texture, cheese was good, 10/10. Pic is from this second time around - very good!
Original review: Cute inside, friendly staff, good coffee. But man the bagels are not good. I got an egg and cheese sandwich, and the bagel was about half the size of a normal bagel and tasted very stale and chewy. Definitely didn’t seem like it was made the same day. The cheese got super gluey really fast, like cheez-wiz style. The whole thing was way overpriced at $7.50 for such a small sandwich. My friend and I both didn’t finish because it was just...
