The city of St. Petersburg will host a Veterans Day celebration on Sunday, November 11 at 8 a.m. at Williams Park at 330 2nd Ave. N. For the fifth year in a row, Mayor Rick Kriseman will celebrate Veterans Day by presenting awards to local veterans: Maxine Cardinal Wehry was among the first women to join the United States Marines Corps during WWII. She is the author of “A Kindred Spirit”, a book that recounts her time in the Marines. Terence Jackson served as a medic in the United States Army for more than 20 years.

This is a great community park in downtown St Petersburg aka DTSP.The big stage band shell is a great venue for concerts. The open park process lots of green space amid the businesses, museums, and churches of St Petersburg . The partially shaded area hosts the Saturday Morning Market with vendors of all kinds of local products from Mr. I Got 'Em bar b q, farm raised meats, mango butter creations, rare fruits, plants, herbs, clothing, herbs, beverages, natural remedies, bee products. The park sits among several parking options. Can accessible 2 hour free street parking and paid parking garage

There's nothing like enjoying the wildlife of Florida. If you get a nice sunny day that's not too wet Ohio grab yourself a bottle of water walk around the park you'll enjoy all the sights and sounds. Children flying kites mom is chasing the kids dogs chasing The Mamas just a good clean fun for a good price. Bring a sandwich and have a picnic on a day with your family instead of eating inside the fluorescent lights. Let God's light shine on you!

Ancient cerimonay and burial of Special spiritual persons homestead of Conrad Williams founder. Who allowed Sadly this Was dedicated to preserve the NATUAL uncultivated Indigenious Fauna of Williams homestead. To display to citizens and perserve the Natural Beauty that Mr. Williams was so enamered with he built his house amoungist without disturbing the imdiginous Fauna and Grandfather Oaks. Sadly St. Petersburg wilest digging utility repairs etc. Unearthed the native fauna. Destroying the beloved Flowers Florida was so named for. I had many indigenious rootstock azaleas sent to Sunken Gardens where like rootstocks are displayed. The Giant Anthrum Lillies that grew from plantings topping miscarriages and other bequests not allowed in Holy Cemetery of the time we're said to be marked by pearl covered with Lily bulb atop planted over the stillborn fetus or unbabtized infant. This Urban legend holds credince as as many pearls have been found where the City unearthed the circle of Indigenious Giant Anthrum Lillies beauty and fragrance blooms once graced the Williams Back porch. Statue to dedicate to esteemed Military Stratagier General K. whom also fell in love with the Indigenious Azalea blooms once was graced by Azalea blooms surrounding American Polish Group. Ester Wright "Bird Lady of St. Petersburg" Whom fed the birds and other small inhabitants, even the feral cats so they would not hunt the birds while she fed them. A drinking fountian (actually was for the animals) a worker removed the stainless dog bowl from the new fountian, why I do not know. But, bowl to the fountain rode around in the back of City golfcart type vehicle for months never replaced nor to be seen again . The drinking fountain stands with plack placed in the walkway to prevent it from traveling as I suggested after finding it in pile of hexagon walkway stones taken up thrown asside, Ester's fountian dedicated to her by those whom loved her was previously surrounded by the Azalea blooms she adored. Ester was a Concert harpist and Lived off Coffee Pot Blvd in House I loved like her because of the French Doors all opened to the surrounding blooming Azaleas, the walls of her Music room housing Piano and Harp. I loved to walk by and stop to listen to her playing the Harp, seeing the flowers all in bloom together seemed magical. Ester was once confiscated by City of St. Petersburg for being Eclectic Personality when one of her grocery carts was found to have Thousands of dollars in it, The Cities efforts to become Her Guardian were ceased finally when the (Multiple) Doweress's Attorneys (unfortunateltly ousting her autonomity) restored the recycling proceeds from greedy City Officials wishing to be the fiduciary to savings accounts and cash belonging to her she used for her benevolent pet project to supplement the day old bread from Webb City with birdseed and peanuts and cat food funding money, proceeds from her recycling. Across the street at their local Church known for it's Stained Glass murals Azaleas still adorn good friends benches at memorial meditation walls. The Orchestra playing while all flowers in bloom was sight and sounds tour buses drove by and stopped to see and hear. Cherokee Root Stock rose used to Adorn Memorial from mother's to children whom gave their service to their country, This rose stock was basis of American Beauty Rose Multiples Award winner developed by P.K. Smith. A living Memorial is the somewhat dove looking piegons remenants of descendents released at memorial ceremony to join rest of flock residing Williams Park of Local Founding Breeder and supplier of Midnight Carrier piegons. These responsible along with code talkers and telegraphers ciphering and deciphering, messages to take back, landing on Normandy Coast and France and communications to the resistance winning World War. One of FEW there are Merchant Marine Memorials stands at South East corner. Sad that this Memorial Park's memory of what it was like before, why stopped enraptured by flowers beauty to smell the Azaleas. Heritage Memory Lands...

Totally did NOT meet my expectations. Went down October 29th for the Rocktoberfest event. This review is a critique of this specific event and not the park in general, which is usually full of homeless men. Unfortunately, the Rocktober Fest, which is a play on the German Oktoberfest, is not very German at all. Big Storm Brewery has a selection of seasonal German styled beers on tap. Thanks for that. Mandy was a super cool bartender! There was just one food vendor who had anything remotely related to German cuisine. Only boiled Weisswurst, canned red/white cabbage, pork schnitzel, and what looked like saurbraten. No spaetzel and ABSOLUTELY NO POTATO SALAD! Only the one vendor had German food. All other vendors, leaning mostly towards seafood, had Cajun and Puerto Rican Styled food as well as traditional American seafood dishes. There were several other strange vendors that seemed to be leftover from the Saturday Morning Market. A fake weed tent. Some guy selling stones and artifacts that burned some fuel that produced flames. Random clothing and jewelry. No real comprehensive theme adhered to at all. The live entertainment was just great, just not German. There were 30 to 45 minute intervals between bands that could have been filled with pre-recorded traditional German Oktoberfest music. The German Club in Pinellas Park has a much better version of Oktober Fest. Assuming that's what you're expecting. The was a very safe event. It was...

On Saturday mornings, they have a special greengrocers Market. One of the wonderful things I was shocked to find, was an organic produce booth, a hydroponic microgreens booth with all kinds of different sprouts which you can taste, and a kombucha stand that also featured sauerkraut, fermented carrots and other alkalinizing Delights! Sarah, the owner of Saint Pete Ferments, explained that theirs was caffeine-free kombucha made from an herbal tea. She also had beautiful old fashioned Brown opaque jugs which she would fill and you can take with you for $10. I had kombucha all week and can't wait to go back for more! PS I lost 3 lbs! Another perk of this Market is that they will take your food stamps at The Red Tent and give you Orange tokens for what you have and then double them and give you more different colored tokens which a few of the places will use. The only drawback to this, is that they need to take all of what you have on your EBT card and then they will double it. So use what you need for meat Etc at regular stores first and just bring what you can afford to have left to double for the few greengrocer's stalls that use...
