Second time dining here with my daughter. Staff were welcoming and accommodating to our odd needs. Visited on a Wednesday night. Waitress was extremely slow but excusable due to the fact she was the only server and had 11 tables. We graciously tipped her over 20% for the inconvenience she had.
We appreciated the cook coming out to help her by taking orders from a few tables. He visited every table to greet himself and check in. It was nice seeing an establishment working together as a family and not merely as an employee, clocking in and clocking out. They care about their staff and the people who walk through their doors.
Eggplant was good. Thinly sliced. Ate all of the sauce on the plate. The lasagna sauce was good. If the meat was marinated in the sauce for a longer duration, it would've been perfect.
The lights could be a little more dim for a more relaxing ambiance. It was too bright for an evening dinner.
Napoli style pizza was delicious. You can taste the difference in the dough they use.

If your preference is pizza with a thick structure or no wetness, this style of pizza is not for you. No need for you to write a bad review, especially on something you already...
Read moreI am from Calabria, Italy and I cannot stand places like this that purport to be authentic when they are not. They have DOP printed all over their menu for items that are not protected foods in Italy. They can't even spell Fior di Latte correctly! And that is NOT an internationally protected food. Even Fior di latte dell’appennino meridionale which is recognized by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, is not internationally protected and has only had Italian designation of PDO since last year. You also say the one you buy is the original and only one. That is definitely not true as Fior di Latte originated in Agerola about 90 minutes from Sorrento. Just because you get a food that was made in Italy doesn't make it DOP. Provola is another one that is NOT a protected food. Ricotta Salata is not DOP. These erroneous designations make me even question the authenticity of the Prosciutto di San Daniele, or if the balsamic is actually from Modena. It angers me and other Italians when a restaurant in the United States misrepresents our proud...

A hidden gem! Original Flavor 1889 blew me away.
From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place takes pride in what they do. The vibe was warm and welcoming, the kind of spot that feels like your new favorite neighborhood go-to. I ordered the Margarita pizza and the penne with vodka sauce — and wow, just wow.
The Margarita pizza was absolute perfection: a light, crispy crust with the perfect char, fresh mozzarella that melted beautifully, and basil that brought it all together. Every bite tasted like it came straight from Naples.
And the penne with vodka sauce? Creamy, rich, and packed with flavor. The sauce clung to every piece of pasta like it was made for it. You could tell it was made with real care — not just some basic, rushed version.
The service was top-tier too. Friendly, attentive staff who really made me feel welcome and cared for.
If you're looking for high-quality Italian food that feels both classic and creative, Original Flavor 1889 is the real deal. 10/10 recommend. Can’t wait to come back and try more...
