Marketplace Café & Crêperie — Restaurant in Salado

We had tea there, and the service was slow, we waited over 15 minutes just to get started. The food was just ok. The desserts are always amazing, but the sandwiches were basic. The turkey sandwich was just regular bread with a couple slices of lunch meat turkey. And they did not serve clotted cream and when I asked for some the server didn’t know what it was and offered me whipped cream and said “we usually save it for the dogs”. I was shocked when she said that, but felt bad because I could tell she had not been trained in serving tea. The tea also tasted strange. I would recommend this bakery for desserts and gelato, but not for tea time, though it is nice that they are offering tea time because I have been hoping someone in Georgetown would offer this service. I am hoping it improves with time because I saw several other tables order tea service and it’s such a nice and fun thing to do with friends and would love to take...

This is a cute little cafe tucked inside one of the boutiques in downtown Salado. It’s right on Main Street, so it’s a perfect place to stop if you’re out walking. It also works if you want to call ahead and pick up a to go order. They have sweet and savory crepes as well as coffee, smoothies and little desserts, all reasonably priced. If you’re feeling adventurous you should check out their drink of the month and you will be treated to a unique drink you won’t find anywhere else. When I went, I tried the prickly pear lemonade and I wasn’t disappointed. If you’re ever in the area, bring some friends and make some time for this place. But get there early before...

Went for brunch today and tried out some of their new crepe flavors! Crepes in order from left to right: Spinach Crêpe Lorraine, CBP (our all-time favorite), and Strawberry Cheesecake Crêpe. They were super yummy and fresh! We also got our usual beverages: Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew, Sweetened Ice Tea, and Strawberry Banana Smoothie. Would highly recommend stopping through for a cup of coffee, a sweet or savory crepe, or even a cup of ice cream.
